It’s hard to believe it’s been a full decade since we first introduced our annual tribute to the “Inspirational, Accomplished and Engaging Women of Tarrant County.” What began in our July 2016 issue as a way to recognize a handful of local changemakers has grown into one of our most beloved and meaningful traditions. Every year, we ask you—our readers, neighbors, and community leaders—to help us spotlight 10 local women who exemplify what it means to uplift others. These are the women who pour their energy, passion, and purpose into making life better for those around them. They lead with heart. They act with intention. And they leave a lasting mark. What makes this milestone even more remarkable is that in those 10 years, we have never once repeated an honoree. And, that’s not because past recipients haven’t been nominated again (because they have—many times in fact), but because Tarrant County is simply brimming with incredible women who give selflessly and lead boldly.
This month, we celebrate the 100 extraordinary women who have graced these pages over the years. Their photos are highlighted on the cover of this issue. Their stories have moved us, motivated us, and reminded us of the quiet power of service and strength. On the cover of this issue, you’ll find all of their faces—each one a thread in the rich tapestry of our community, and their names each listed in this issue on pages 20-21.
To our 2025 honorees: thank you for showing us what true leadership looks like. And to all of you who have submitted nominations over the years—thank you for helping us continue to shine a light on the women who inspire us most. Here’s to the next 10 years of celebrating women who lead with purpose and are changing the world—one act of kindness at a time.

STRENGTHEN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD AND LIVE A FULFILLING, FAITHFUL CHRISTIAN LIFE by
Watermark Waves
“Your beauty should not come from outward adornments, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.”
Beauty is one of God’s creations that reflects His glory and creativity. From the vastness of the skies to the intricate details of a flower, beauty is all around us. The Bible addresses the concept of beauty in various forms— inner beauty, outer beauty, and the beauty of God’s creation. May these verses provide you with inspiration and guidance, reminding us of the true source and meaning of beauty.
WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT INNER BEAUTY
The Bible emphasizes the importance of inner beauty over our outward appearance. While our society often prioritizes physical beauty, Scripture redirects our focus to the heart and character. The verse shown above encourages believers to prioritize their inner character, highlighting that God values qualities like gentleness and humility over physical adornment (1 Peter 3:3-4). Outer beauty fades with time, but reverence for God is an enduring quality that holds eternal value.
GOD’S CREATION: A REFLECTION OF HIS BEAUTY
The natural world is a testament to God’s creativity and perfection. The Bible reminds us to see creation’s beauty as a reflection of God’s glory. “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands” (Psalm 19:1). This verse points to the
beauty of the universe as evidence of God’s greatness. And Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” Everything God creates has beauty and purpose, even if we don’t always understand it fully.
PHYSICAL BEAUTY IN THE BIBLE
Although inner beauty is prioritized, the Bible does acknowledge physical beauty. Some figures in the Bible, such as Sarah, Rachel, and David, are described as physically attractive. However, their stories show that their character and relationship with God truly define them. Song of Solomon 4:7 says, “You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.” This poetic expression of love highlights physical beauty in the context of a marital relationship, showing physical beauty can be celebrated in God-honoring ways. “The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7). This verse reminds us that God’s perspective is different from human standards. While humans may focus more on outward appearances, God values the condition of our hearts.
THE BEAUTY OF HOLINESS
The Bible often associates beauty with holiness and worship. True beauty is found in God’s presence and His ways. “One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple” (Psalm 27:4). This verse shows us that God is the ultimate source of beauty, and His presence brings joy and fulfillment.
• FOCUS ON THE HEART: Develop qualities such as kindness, humility, and love, which reflect God’s character. –
• CELEBRATE CREATION: Take time to appreciate the beauty in nature and recognize it as God’s handiwork.
–
• SEE OTHERS THROUGH GOD’S EYES: Value people for their inner qualities rather than through their outward appearances.
–
• HONOR GOD THROUGH YOUR LIFE: Live your life in a way that reflects God’s holiness and brings glory to Him.

RIPE READS BOOK REVIEWS BY SANDY LOWE
Author Amberly Lago sets out her purpose for writing her third book, Joy Through the Journey, early in its pages. “We will never cross a boundary and find ourselves in a place where good is perpetual and setbacks don’t exist,” she writes. “But with the right tools, we can get through the tough times and find joy in the process.” The book tells the story of her harrowing life traumas, including childhood sexual abuse, an almost-fatal motorcycle accident followed by more than 30 surgeries, alcohol addiction, and a Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) diagnosis. As she navigates the struggles from these almost-impossible-to-overcome experiences, she continues to seek ways to conquer suffering and live a life of joy.
While it’s clear that Lago believes strongly in an active life physically and spiritually, she also teaches that selfcare and rest must hold permanent places in the lives of resilient people. Early in this book she describes her own physical crash during an appearance on Instagram Live. She uses the term “bankrupt” to describe the state in which she found herself due to skipping her own self-care and rest.
Often in this book Lago takes what appear to be contradictory terms and contrasts them to show that both
concepts belong in the life of joy and resilience. For example, she shares that joy and pain constantly coexist in her life due to her work on a positive focus and the fact that CRPS remains incurable with few effective treatments. She bases most of her career on helping others overcome their own traumas, but she also suggests that setting strong boundaries will allow you to escape “energy vampires” and foster relationships that enhance your joy. She shares her dependence on the HALT acronym to remind herself that if she’s Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired, those feelings can quickly overcome willpower and cause a drastic slip in self-care. “Rather than just kicking out negative thoughts,” she says, “challenge them. Thinking positively isn’t about ignoring bad things and pretending they’re not happening. It’s acknowledging them, then taking actionable steps to change them.”
The transparency and authenticity Lago shows in this book set it apart from other “self-help” efforts that try to reduce emotional growth and overcoming pain to a check-list or series of one-time steps. She emphasizes that managing our physical, spiritual and emotional wellness is a life-long goal involving caring for self, prioritizing spiritual health and also fostering our connection with others.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Amberly Lago is a leading expert in the field of resilience, health, transformation, and wellness. She shares her passion for turning tragedies into triumphs at exclusive workshops, public events, and corporate summits, and schools. She offers a carefully curated set of practical tools to teach others how to tap into their superpower of resilience and persevere through any of life’s challenges. She offers hope and solutions for anyone living in chronic pain and has been featured on NBC’s Today Show and in magazines such as Shape, Fit Pregnancy, Health, and Disability Magazine.

Step aside, summer blockbusters— there’s a new superhero experience in town, and it doesn’t require popcorn or 3D glasses. Now through September 1, Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, is turning the dial on epic all the way up with “Universe of Light,” the first-ever DC-themed lantern attraction on Earth. Yes, Earth—as in world debut. This largerthan-life event invites you to walk directly into the pages of a comic book, but make it glow. Think Superman’s cape billowing in silk, Batman’s silhouette looming in lights, and Wonder Woman’s shield gleaming—all sculpted with ancient artistry and a bit of modern magic.
How do you bring the Justice League to life with silk and steel? You call in the big guns— from 7,897 miles away. The masterminds behind this dazzling spectacle are none other than renowned lantern artisans of Zigong, China, the official “Lantern Capital of the World.” With a tradition dating back over a thousand years, these craftspeople have turned the ancient art of lantern-making into superhero sorcery. Here’s how the magic happens: It starts with a sketch, turns into a hand-shaped steel frame, then gets wrapped in miles—30 miles to be exact—of vibrant silk, before being lit from within by thousands of twinkling LEDs. The result? Lanterns soar up to 24 feet high—radiating heroic energy and meticulous detail. Emblems shine, eyes glow, capes ripple... even villains shimmer.
Spanning 17,500 sq.ft., Universe of Light is like Comic-Con meets Wonderland. Journey through Gotham City, past shadowy haunts of Batman, into Metropolis, home of hope and high-flying feats, and across Themyscira, where Wonder Woman’s world glows with fierce grace. Whether five or 55, this immersive experience invites your inner fan to geek out—loudly. Expect interactive moments galore throughout the experience. Sit behind the wheel of the iconic Batmobile—brooding playlist optional—and wander through the
icy echoes of Superman’s legendary Fortress of Solitude. Then, witness the jaw-dropping showdown between Justice League heroes and villains, and don’t forget to snap selfies with real-life Superheroes, cape, tights, and all!
SUPER STATS — LET’S BREAK IT DOWN IN SUPERHERO-WORTHY NUMBERS:
• 1,000 glowing lanterns – From DC icons to props and set pieces
• 200,000 pounds of steel – Sculpted into superhero form
• 30 miles of silk – More than enough to lasso the truth
• 160 artisans – Master crafters behind every illuminated detail
• 7,897 miles traveled – Because heroism knows no borders!
Whether you’re a longtime comic fan, an art aficionado, or just looking for the coolest summer photo op, Universe of Light checks all boxes. Family-friendly, date-night worthy, and designed to dazzle, Universe of Light reminds us what real-life wonder looks like— glowing capes, steel-forged muscles, and light dancing off of every carefully crafted detail. It’s artistry. It’s nostalgia. It’s full-on fantasy. And it’s only at the Gaylord Texan Resort this summer. So grab your camera, bring your sense of awe, and prepare to walk (and glow) among legends. Because inside of this universe… you get to be the hero!

One verse that has deeply marked my life is 2 Corinthians 12: 9–10:
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness… For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
This truth has reshaped how I view myself, my calling, and leadership. I’ve had to release perfectionism and lean fully on my Creator. Now, every weakness is a chance to reflect what He’s done in me—not through striving, but surrender. That’s where I’ve found true strength and peace. My hope is that in every moment, others see not just my effort, but His grace at work.

CREATIVITY AS SANCTUARY—WHERE CREATIVITY MEETS HEALING
In the heart of Grapevine, a quiet revolution is taking shape—one brushstroke at a time. The Usual Artspects, a nonprofit with the tagline “Where Creativity Meets Healing,” is reshaping how survivors of physical violence and sexual abuse reclaim their lives and reconnect with community. Founded in 2021 by survivor-advocate Sara Rose Salih, the organization blends expressive art, therapeutic practices, and empowerment to offer a path forward. “Art gives a voice to the voiceless,” Salih shares. “Many survivors aren’t yet able to speak about their trauma aloud. But through paint, paper, and the support of skilled professionals, they begin uncovering truths they couldn’t reach any other way.”
The statistics are staggering. One-in-3 women in the U.S. is subjected to domestic violence, and 1-in-6 women will experience rape or attempted rape. Among female victims, 94% exhibit symptoms of PTSD, while onethird contemplate suicide. These are not just numbers — they represent lives in crisis, grappling with depression, anxiety, and chronic pain. Traditional talk therapy often falls short. Trauma can leave survivors locked inside their minds, longing to speak, yet trapped in silence. This is where The Usual Artspects steps in. By offering a tapestry of art therapy, music and dance therapy, writing therapy, sound healing, martial arts, and even comedy improv — the nonprofit meets survivors where they are.
Founded in 2021, The Usual Artspects is a 501c3 nonprofit organization where creativity meets healing. The proceeds from their art shows, vendor markets, concerts, and silent auctions go towards creating affordable and healing programs for women who have survived sexual assault and trauma. The mission of The Usual Artspects is to provide healing and empowerment through art for female survivors of physical violence and sexual abuse to improve the quality of their life mentally, emotionally, and physically. Through a safe supportive environment, they provide advocacy, awareness, community, education, and resources for survivors through expressive art programs and group therapy.
At the very core of The Usual Artspects' healing mission is a transformative 6week art therapy program specifically created for women aged 15–45 who have experienced sexual trauma, abuse, or trafficking. This program isn’t just about painting or drawing—it’s a structured, evidence-based approach to emotional recovery, led by licensed professional therapists trained in trauma-informed care. Through expressive workshops that
include guided creative exercises, plus reflective journaling and group sharing, participants are given safe tools to process deeply rooted emotional pain. The goal is to help reduce debilitating symptoms of anxiety, depression, C-PTSD and PTSD— conditions that often go untreated or are resistant to traditional talk therapy. The program’s data shows within six months, participants experience 30–40% reduction in symptoms, with some early cohorts seeing over a 50% improvement in just two weeks. These aren’t just numbers— they reflect real lives reclaimed, voices
rediscovered, and confidence restored. For many of these women, this program is their first experience feeling seen, and supported, and understood.
Creativity finds many forms here, each one offering a pathway to both healing and connection. In collaboration with partner nonprofits like GRACE and Bochy’s Place, The Usual Artspects curates a diverse range of expressive experiences that go far beyond traditional therapy. From intimate painting nights to high-energy dance
sessions, from empowering self-defense martial arts classes to spontaneous comic improv jams, and deeply personal writing workshops—every activity is designed to help survivors reconnect with their bodies, emotions and each other. The events create safe, welcoming spaces where women can let down their guard, explore their self expression, and perhaps most importantly, feel less alone. The healing that takes place is not just internal—it’s communal. Participant feedback consistently underscores this powerful sense of connection and real validation: “When someone else shares their story... all of a sudden your life makes sense. You have someone, a soul sister, that’s been through something similar.” This shared vulnerability fosters a sisterhood of strength, proving that healing doesn't happen in isolation—it thrives in community.
How does this vital work continue? The Usual Artspects harnesses a creative funding model: art and vendor markets across DFW. Since 2021, every vendor booth fee has underpinned the nonprofit’s expressive programming. Notably, the vendors retain 100% of their sales while supporting healing at scale. Their upcoming event at False Idol Brewing in North Richland Hills showcases this synergy—unique crafts, artisan goods, and therapeutic art-meets-commerce. Meanwhile, partnerships like Meow Wolf in Grapevine highlight the intersection of arts access and wellness.
A VILLAGE OF SUPPORT
Leadership drives impact. Board members include local professionals like Grapevine
Parks & Rec's Erin Burke and Prosperity Bank’s Jorden Long. Together they guide direction, ensuring governance practices of ethics, transparency, and board education are in place. Thanks to their strategic partnerships and volunteer therapists, support services now cover underserved women and children in-and-around Grapevine, Euless, Denton, and Southlake.
SEEN, HEARD, EMPOWERED
Measuring success goes beyond numbers. Testimonial after testimonial speaks to deep emotional release and newfound assertiveness. Participants report setting boundaries, breaking silence, and rediscovering joy— outcomes that pure talk therapy often fails to achieve. Salih emphasizes that healing is relational. “Trauma survivors have suffered in silence. They feel alone. But when you sit in a room with others and share your story— even through metaphor and color—you find your soul sister.”
The Usual Artspects has big plans for the future—plans rooted in both expansion and innovation. The team is actively working to broaden their reach by launching digital workshops, making their expressive healing programs accessible to survivors who may not be able to attend in person due to distance, safety concerns, or transportation barriers. They also aim to scale their model across Texas—partnering with additional shelters, community centers, and schools to bring trauma-informed creative therapy into more communities that need it. Equally important is their focus on prevention,
particularly for vulnerable children and teens—many of whom tragically experience abuse at the hands of someone they know. The Usual Artspects is developing earlyintervention programming that uses art as a non-threatening way to educate, empower, and equip young people with tools to recognize unsafe situations, set boundaries, and speak up. Their long-term goal is to break cycles of trauma before they begin. Their vision is bold, yet beautifully simple: a world where art isn’t just decoration or an escape, but a powerful mechanism for social change and emotional recovery. A world where creativity is not a luxury, but a lifeline. Through color, movement, story, and sound, The Usual Artspects is building that world—one safe space, one brushstroke, and one brave survivor at a time.
There are many meaningful ways to get involved with The Usual Artspects and support their mission of healing through creativity. Community members can join as vendors in upcoming artisan markets, where booth fees directly fund survivor programs while helping local artists grow. Others may choose to donate or sponsor to help offset operational costs and expand the organization’s outreach. For those looking to offer their time and talents, opportunities are available to volunteer as therapists, group facilitators, or event staff. Even simply attending an event or spreading the word plays a powerful role in raising awareness and reinforcing the impact of this vital work. As the organization reminds us, “Art heals, but you can help.”
In the tapestry of trauma recovery, The Usual Artspects fills a vital space—one colored by compassion, fueled by creativity, and anchored in community. A paintbrush here doesn’t just make art—it redraws a life. A dance here doesn’t just express—it releases pain. A market here isn’t just retail—it’s restoration. In Grapevine and beyond, they’re proving that healing doesn’t demand perfection—it demands permission. Permission to feel. Permission to share. Permission to create. Because when art meets awareness, power meets purpose—and survivors regain their voice, one canvas at a time.

The Neuro Assistance Foundation will strive to ensure that every spinal cord injured or disabled person in our community has the equipment necessary to be mobile and independent.
Every step makes a difference. This August, Neuro Assistance Foundation (NAF) invites you to lace up your sneakers—or wheels— for the Hot Hatch Chile Run, Walk & Roll, a high-energy 10K, 5K, and 1M fun run that supports individuals living with spinal cord injuries and disabilities. From infants up to seniors, NAF has provided critical support to more than 4,500 people—including over 2,000 children—across Texas, helping them regain mobility, independence, and hope. Whether the result of a car accident, fall, or medical condition, spinal cord injuries change lives in an instant—and so can your participation in this event. Join us Saturday, August 16th at Southlake Central Market to run, walk, or roll for a cause that keeps Texans moving forward.
WHO: The Neuro Assistance Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals living with spinal cord injuries and other disabilities by promoting greater self-sufficiency and mobility. They provide essential assistance through specialized mobility equipment, adaptive technology, and home modifications tailored to each individual’s needs. NAF proudly serves 108 counties throughout Texas, including the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, Greater Houston, and Austin regions. Their mission is simple yet powerful: to ensure that every person living with a spinal cord injury or disability has access to the resources and equipment necessary to live independently and with dignity.
WHAT: The Hot Hatch Chile Run, Walk & Roll is a family-friendly race event taking place on Saturday, August 16, 2025, featuring a 10K, 5K, and 1-mile Fun Run. Presented by Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation, the event brings together the community for a morning of fitness and fun. Participants will enjoy a Southlake Central Market Hot Hatch Breakfast, included with entry, and receive a tri-blend T-shirt and finisher medal. The event kicks off at the start/finish line with a special appearance by Mayor McCaskill of Southlake, and concludes with an award ceremony on the Central Market Café patio, featuring music from DJ Warren and brews by Martin House Brewery.
WHERE: Southlake Central Market located at 1425 East Southlake Boulevard, 76092
WHEN: Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 7am to 10:30am
RACE DAY SCHEDULE:
7am 1M Fun Run
7:29am 10K Handcycle
7:30am 10K Run/Walk

WHY: Even with health insurance, many individuals find that the essential durable medical equipment they need—such as bathing aids—is no longer covered by their providers. The Neuro Assistance Foundation helps bridge this critical gap by supporting underinsured and uninsured individuals living with spinal cord injuries, ensuring they receive the vital equipment necessary for mobility, safety, and independence.
(continued)
To date, NAF has supported more than 4,500 individuals and their families— including over 2,000 children living with spinal cord injuries.
Causes of Injury Among NAF Clients include:
• Motor vehicle accidents (cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATVs) accounting for over 50%
• Birth defects and medical conditions such as transverse myelitis and tumors
• Domestic violence and falls
Client Demographics:
• Age range from: 5 months to 92 years old
Most Requested Services: Mobility-related equipment is the most frequently requested form of support. This includes:
• Wheelchairs
• Wheelchair repairs
• Hospital beds
• Complex shower chairs
• Mechanical lifts
Yearly Impact:
• 2024: NAF assisted 782 individuals, including 349 kids
• 2025: NAF is projected to support over 400 children in the community
HOW: When you sign up for the Hot Hatch Chile Run, Walk & Roll, you're doing more than participating in a fun community event—you're helping change lives. Your involvement directly supports adults and children living with spinal cord injuries, many of whom face overwhelming challenges just to meet their basic mobility needs. Despite having health insurance, many individuals still find critical items like wheelchairs, shower chairs, and other durable medical equipment unaffordable or uncovered by their plans. That’s where the Neuro Assistance Foundation (NAF) steps in—to bridge the gap and ensure that no one is left behind due to financial barriers. Proceeds from this event go directly toward purchasing and providing essential mobility equipment and home modifications for underinsured and uninsured individuals in our community. Your support helps them regain independence, restore dignity, and improve their quality of life. Whether you're running, walking, rolling, or cheering from the sidelines, your participation matters.

This savory pie is topped with real southern pimento cheese for Pete’s sake! Make this in the summertime when you have really gorgeous tomatoes. My friend JC of JCP Eats posted this recipe and I thought it was so mouth-watering, I asked him to let me share it with you guys! This homemade pimento cheese is out of this world delicious. I met food blogger JC on a trip to Dollywood and we got on like two peas in a pod. He’s a true southern gentleman with class and style and all the things that make the south so grand. JC wrote this up for two pies, but I think you could easily make one. That’s so southern to make two pies at once — no doubt to take one to your neighbor! I love that he also wrote up the seasonings “to taste” because that is my favorite way to cook. Thanks for the recipe, JC!
(1) Preheat oven to 350F.
(yields 2 pies)
2 pre-baked pie crusts 3-4 medium tomatoes, sliced 1 c. mayonnaise (add slowly until desired consistency can use more or less)
8 oz. sharp cheddar
8 oz. monterey jack
8 oz. parmesan
1 jar (4 oz.) diced pimentos, drained 1/4 vidalia onion, grated Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard minced onion, to taste black pepper, to taste kosher salt, to taste sugar, to taste basil, for garnish
(2) Slice tomatoes to desired thickness and lay them flat on a paper towel. Sprinkle with kosher salt and a little sugar; the salt will absorb moisture out of the tomatoes, while the sugar will cut the bitterness (it won’t make the pie sweet). Place a second paper towel on top of the tomatoes and leave them for 5-10 minutes. Carefully apply pressure to get rid of remaining juice out of tomatoes; be careful to not squish tomatoes with applied force.
.............................................................
(3) In a large bowl, combine sharp cheddar, monterey jack, parmesan, mayonnaise, diced pimentos, freshlygrated vidalia onion, minced onion, and black pepper. Be conservative when using the mayonnaise—you can always add more to reach your desired consistency. Mix well.
.............................................................
(4) Using a brush or spoon, apply thin layer of Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard to the pie crust, completely cover.
.............................................................
(5) Add a layer of tomatoes.
.............................................................
(6) Top with pimento cheese mixture. .............................................................
(7) Bake for 20 minutes and broil for 2-4 minutes; remove pie from oven when the top is perfectly browned.
.............................................................
(8) Top with basil. Then enjoy!

REVIEW BY JENNIFER SLOAN
Rise Soufflé, beloved French-inspired soufflé salon, has opened its doors in Southlake as a whimsical escape into refined, yet approachable dining. It is located at 2001 West Southlake Boulevard (within Southlake Marketplace) and the new venue adds yet another exciting layer to the shopping center’s diverse set of dining options. CEO Chris Florczak explains the brand’s rationale: “Many of our guests travel from the Southlake area… it was a no brainer to bring Rise closer.” The restaurant quietly opened late May and has already become a favorite among locals. It marks Rise’s seventh location—a journey that began in Dallas in 2008, followed by branches in Fort Worth, the Houston area, Plano, Tulsa and now Southlake.
More than just a menu, Rise crafts an immersive environment. Each of the locations is styled to conjure French charm while having its own distinct personality. Southlake’s end-cap spot with lush indoor greenery evokes a
countryside cottage vibe where guests can slow down and savor great food and great conversation. The decor— vintage silverware and napkins with reclaimed woods, antique books and playful frog figurines—creates a storybook ambiance pairing perfectly with the cuisine. A dog-friendly patio and outdoor greenspace makes it both family and pet-friendly.
At the heart of Rise’s appeal are (obviously) its soufflés—each one is a delicate balance of art and precision. Their signature baked creations, both savory (like Smoked Salmon, Ham & Gruyère and Sundried Tomato & Pesto) and sweet (think Chocolate, Raspberry or Bananas Foster), emerge from custom ovens in 15–18 minutes, ensuring a perfect rise every time. If you’re new to soufflé, it’s a fluffy egg-based dish baked and served in a personal ramekin. It’s quiche’s crustless, cloudlike cousin. If you are looking for lighter lunchtime fare, I suggest the Truffle-Infused Mushroom option that includes a light swirl of white cheese. For a heartier dinnertime delight, the Mac ‘n Cheese Soufflé is comforting and satisfying with a generous bacon crumble topper.
Standout starters include their “Marshmallow Soup,” a roasted tomato carrot bisque crowned with goat cheese puffs—playful, yet totally luxurious. Though not unique to Rise
but certainly worthy of a try, my notto-be-missed starter is the French Onion Soup. I was never a fan before visiting Rise, finding most either too salty or too watery, but Rise gets it right with a delicate beef broth top tucked beneath a baked cheese crust. Speaking of cheese—cheese lovers don’t miss Chariot de Fromage— artisanal cheese board perfect to share over wine or champagne flight.
I know what you might be thinking: “This doesn’t sound like a place my spouse or kids are going to go for!’ That’s exactly what I thought. But there are other non-soufflé main attractions, as well. From the casual Parisian Jambon (Ham) Sandwich with Gruyere and sweet butter to the generous Steak & Pomme de Terre (fingerling potatoes), there’s something for everyone. And make sure you save room for dessert! This is where you’re sure to win over those with the pickiest palettes. On the day of my visit, the dessert special was the Keylime Soufflé, a lighter version of the custardy pie imported from Florida. It’s served with house made whipped cream and is my must-try if you catch it on your visit. Otherwise, the Grand Marnier is light enough in flavor and texture to
be a perfect sweet bite to end your culinary journey through France.
The debut of Rise Soufflé newest location in Southlake blends elevated French cuisine perfectly with the French fairytale environment—ideal for those seeking everyday elegance. Rise is more than just a meal... it’s an unhurried experience where the hum of conversation, the clink of wine glasses, and the sight of soufflés gently rising transport you on a little European staycation. If you haven’t ventured into this new Southlake gem yet, consider treating yourself.
Whether you’re a soufflé devotee or want a spot to unwind with a glass of wine or French cocktail, Rise serves up French charm with Southern hospitality—right in your backyard.
