Lisa Marie Martinez Scholarship Turns Grief into Hope

The REALTORS® & Friends Run/Walk Scholarship program, established in 2022 in memory of Lisa Marie Martinez, honors her legacy by supporting students and raising awareness about cancer. What began as a college fund for Lisa’s daughter, Katalina, evolved into a community driven effort promoting education. In just three years, 567 participants helped raise $15,336 through events in McAllen and Edinburg, TX. On June 11, 2025, eleven $1,000 scholarships were awarded to graduating seniors of REALTOR® members attending universities such as UTRGV, UT Austin, and Baylor. This program reflects the power of community to transform grief into opportunity and hope.
