In June 2018, Snowy Mountain Development Corporation and Department of Revenue staff toured Roundup’s downtown core and highway corridors to assess blight conditions against the definitions provided in Montana Statute. SMDC's Regional Director prepared and presented this Blight Assessment to the Roundup City Council, noting the following findings: physical deterioration of buildings and properties; inappropriate or mixed uses of land or buildings; defective street layout; unsanitary and unsafe conditions and the existence of conditions that endanger lifeor property by fire or other causes; and vacant, deteriorating buildings.
