GATHERING MUSIC

GREETING & WELCOME

Matthew Gemmill

Reverend John Huff and Reverend Mary Beth Morgan

*THE PASSING OF THE PEACE AND THE RINGING OF THE BELLS

PRELUDE

*CALL TO WORSHIP

Matthew Gemmill

One: Jesus calls us to take up our cross not for comfort, but for courage; not for privilege, but for purpose.

All: We come, ready to follow Christ, even when the path leads through struggle and sacrifice.

One: To follow Jesus is to count the cost to stand with the oppressed, to speak truth to power, to build peace where there is division.

All: We come, not with empty words, but with hearts ready to act, hands ready to serve, and lives ready to be transformed.

One: Let us worship the One who calls us to justice, to mercy, and to radical love.

All: We worship with boldness and humility, committed to the way of Christ a way that lifts the lowly, challenges the powerful, and brings hope to the world.

All Creatures of Our God and King

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH

One: Let us say what we believe:

All: We believe in the God, the Creator who shapes us like clay with intention, care, and love.

We believe that we are masterpieces in progress, formed by divine hands that do not discard, but reimagine and renew.

We believe that God is still molding the Church, calling us to reflect the fullness of Christ, to be vessels of justice, and agents of reconciliation in a broken world.

We believe that transformation is possible for individuals, communities, and systems. We trust in the Spirit’s power to reshape what is cracked, to restore what is wounded, and to build what is just.

We commit ourselves to the Potter’s work to be pliable in love, bold in truth, and faithful in actio n. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

A CALL TO GIVING

OFFERTORY

Broken, Reformed, and Called

TheKindofLoveMyShepherdIs Dan Forrest

The King of love my Shepherd is, Whose goodness faileth never; I nothing lack if I am His, And He is mine forever.

Where streams of living water flow, My ransomed soul He leadeth; And where the verdant pastures grow, With food celestial feedeth.

*THE DOXOLOGY

*OFFERTORY PRAYER

Reverend John Huff

The Chancel Choir

Perverse and foolish, oft I strayed, But yet in love He sought me; And on His shoulder gently laid, And home, rejoicing, brought me.

And so through all the length of days Thy goodness faileth never; Good Shepherd, may I sing Thy praise Within Thy house forever.

Holy and Merciful God, as we bring these gifts to you as an offering, may they be bring hope, healing, and justice. By your Spirit, help us to remain mindful of the many ways you are calling us to love and serve. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen.

THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION

The Great Thanksgiving

One: The Lord be with you.

All: And also with you.

One: Lift up your hearts.

All: We lift them up to the Lord.

One: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

All: It is right to give our thanks and praise.

(The leader offers a prayer of thanksgiving, remembering God’s acts of salvation, and concludes:)

One: And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven, we praise your name and join in their unending hymn:

All: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!

(The leader continues the thanksgiving, recalling the institution of the Lord’s Supper, and concludes:)

One: And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ’s offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith:

All: Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.

(The leader asks for the blessing of the Spirit, and then praises the Trinity, concluding:)

One: All honor and glory is yours, Almighty God, now and forever.

All: Amen.
