A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE.

A Winning Formula. That’s what our Division II Mustang student-athletes find as they pursue their goals in the classroom and on the court or playing field. Mustang team members also interact with and volunteer in the community and have earned the NCAA Division II Award of Excellence for community engagement eight times! Our teams are competitive, with student-athletes often named to all-academic teams on conference, regional, and national levels. We love our Mustangs!

Mustang fans generate a lot of noise and energy for our SMSU teams. Intramural sports offer fun and fitness for students who want to enjoy friendly competition. A campus Wellness Center is a busy place for students interested in a healthy lifestyle.

“One of our main goals in our student-athlete program is for students to have positive experiences on and off the court. We want them to prepare themselves for their next step in life.”

MAKE A WISE INVESTMENT.

Capitalize on value. With one of the most robust scholarship offerings of peer institutions, most SMSU students receive financial assistance. The average financial aid package is $10,334. With banded tuition, credits between 12-18 cost the same, so your tuition doesn’t change.

With just a few exceptions, nearly everyone at SMSU qualifies for in-state tuition, so if you’re from out of state or even another country, you’re a winner when it comes to the cost of your college education. Additional scholarship opportunities help lower the price even further. It’s true that college is an investment, but it doesn’t have to be an extravagant one at SMSU. Go to www.smsu.edu/scholarships to learn more.

“Getting an education is very important, making this scholarship worth way more than just the dollar amount. Every day I am reminded of how fortunate I am to have the opportunity to work my way through college knowing that I will be debt-free at the end!”
