gold rush days! You are about to take part in a tradition at southwest minnesota state university. mustang “Gold Rush” Days symbolizes the start of your academic and social quest for success. A “Gold Rush” by definition is: 1: a rush to newly discovered goldfields in pursuit of riches 2: the headlong pursuit of sudden wealth in a new or lucrative field 3: to lavish attention on 4: to secure a pledge of membership 5: a thronging of people usually to a new place in search of wealth

Our four-day orientation program will provide sessions to acclimate you to our student services, and the guest speakers will give you advice about how to be successful in a college environment. The various activities during the days and nights will give you the opportunity to smile, laugh, and have fun with your fellow classmates. This is the beginning of a new chapter in your life, and we want to start it off with a BANG!
