MENTAL WELLNESS LANE CHANGE

Mental wellness is likely the largest concern within schools today. Even before Covid, educators were overwhelmed with the issues kids are facing. Since the pandemic, these issues have only been compounded. This mental wellness package is designed to assist educators with their own professional development while empowering them to critically analyze their work and environment. These unique graduate courses are intensive and based on a fast-paced, fast-tracked spiraling curriculum. They are integrated into one cohesive and well-planned course of study. Students will be learning about mental health issues that are faced by students and adults, skills of identifying issues, and resources within their immediate area. Dr. Yerigan is a certified MHFA (Mental Health First Aid Instructor) granting her the ability to certify students for three years. These certifications include Adult Mental Health First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid. The semester will culminate with a presentation that will highlight your findings.
