VIENNA CITY TOUR

Today the tradition-rich Danube metropolis Vienna is on the program. From the pier you will pass the “New Vienna” with the Uno-City and the Danube Island. See imposing magnificent buildings such as the State Opera, the Burgtheater, the Hofburg, the Parliament, the City Hall and the Votivkirche during the trip along the famous Ringstrasse. During a guided tour afterwards, you will experience this charming city and its worldfamous “Viennese Schmäh” at first hand. After a short free time, you will pass the Praterstern and return to your ship.

ADVENT MAGIC IN THE KITTENBERG GARDENS

The double city of Krems-Stein offers its visitors a wealth of cultural and historical attractions. The more than thousand years old history of the city is present everywhere, be it on the streets and squares, in old churches and monasteries or even the town houses and fortified buildings. The Kittenberg adventure gardens are transformed into a veritable sea of lights in the run-up to Christmas. Experience the special Advent magic in the midst of the lovingly laid out show gardens. Of course, a glass of mulled wine or punch is not to be missed.

EXCURSION CHRISTKINDLSTADT STEYR

Take a trip to the place where the Christkindl lives! The bus takes you from Linz to the famous Christkindl region, which becomes the centre of Christmas events every year. Here, ancient customs come alive again. The church in the Christkindl pilgrimage site today stands on the spot where once the seriously ill bandmaster Ferdinand Sertl placed a small baby Jesus made of wax in the hollow of a spruce tree and prayed again and again until he was finally healed. From the Christkindl post office, you can send Christmas greetings to your loved ones back home before continuing on to one of Austria’s oldest cities. Customs and traditions are always rediscovered here. Take a walk and immerse yourself in the romantic atmosphere of the Christkindlstadt Steyr. In the 1st Austrian Christmas Museum for historical Christmas tree decorations, more than 14000 specimens as well as 200 parlour dolls are waiting for you.
