Tyler Ing, 20, told the London (Ontario) Free Press in October that his parents “looked at me real weird for a few minutes” but that now “they’re proud. My mom shows the (Guinness Book of World Records) to all her friends.” The entry that she shows is her son’s honor, recently achieved, for having the world’s longest nipple hair, certified at 8.89 cm (3.5 inches).

OCEAN AVENUE — Despite recent devastation from hurricanes, representatives from Louisiana urged movie producers this week to film in their home state, saying the tax incentives available would make the trip worthwhile. Sen. Jay Dardenne (R-Baton Rouge) and Baton Rouge Mayor Melvin “Kip” Holden were part of a delegation from Louisiana addressing 100 movie producers at Le Merigot Hotel on Thursday. They promoted a tax incentive package approved prior to the

destruction wrought by Hurricane Katrina. Due to Katrina’s economic impact, the incentives couldn’t be more timely, they said. The Aug. 25 hurricane had winds of up to 100 miles per hour along the Gulf Coast and is believed to have caused $26 billion in damage to parts of Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. Breaches in at least one levee allowed water from Lake Pontchartrain to inundate sections of New Orleans. Canal Street was literally a canal, according to some reports. Dozens of people were

SM PIER — After six years of waiting, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. has finally opened its doors to the public. “We’re very excited, it’s been a long road,” said Scott Barnett, president and CEO of Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. “It’s a tremendous location, and in the restaurant business, it’s all about location, location, location.” Bubba Gump first set its sights on Santa Monica in 1999. But because of a bitter legal dispute between City Hall and Naia Sheffield, the owner of the previous restaurant, the Boathouse — anchored on the west end of the pier for 50 years — Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. treaded in the turbulent waters waiting for a resolution. Sheffield claimed she was unfairly kicked off the pier to make way for Bubba Gump, but officials argued that Bubba Gump’s business plan was better.
