Your Answer: 1. Developing the problem- The researcher has most likely already found the problem. The goal is to create a detailed plan for the experiment.

2. Form a hypothesis- The researcher is likely to have an idea of the outcome based on previous knowledge and studies. The hypothesis needs to be testable. It needs the ability to be either supported or refuted.

3. Gather data- What needs to be decided is the measuring instruments, controls, and the proper way of obtaining necessary data that will be used to solve the problem.

4. Analyze the data- Is is the most important and difficult step in the scientific method. Using statistical analysis, analyze and interpret the results of your experiment.

5. Interpret the results- The researcher will provide evidence to either prove or disprove the hypothesis. Here the researcher will also use the data from their study along with other studies to add to the development or substantiation of a theory.
