Parent Participation Thank You to the wonderful parents who participated in our first parent workshop. This workshop was provided by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library. The workshop focused on the importance of reading to your children.

Books provide an opportunity for children to learn about people, places, cultures, activities, and different environments.

Reading stories allows them to gain a new outlook on life.

Best Ways to Encourage Infant Brain Development Parents and other caregivers can support healthy brain growth by speaking to, playing with, and caring for their child. Children learn best when parents take turns when talking and playing, and build on their child’s skills and interests. Nurturing a child by understanding their needs and responding sensitively helps to protect children’s brains from stress.

Speaking with children and exposing them to books, stories, and songs helps strengthen children’s language and communication, which puts them on a path towards learning and succeeding in school.

What's Going on In The Toddler Class...

Our class is working on expression art. Self-expression, through being creative and playing with materials, encourages and supports children's imagination and thinking process development. It allows them to produce new understandings and experience the world from different perspectives. Art engages children's sense of touch, sight, & sound and it helps develop their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Art also encourages children to explore their creativity, imagination, and self-expression, which can boost their confidence and emotional well-being.

What's Going on In Our Class...

Three's Updates

Parents Please Work with your child on recognizing and spelling their names.

Our class is working on recognizing letters and letter sounds.

Alphabet knowledge is one of the first building blocks of education, the moment when children begin learning the letters of the alphabet. As the stepping stones of language, learning the alphabet is one of the first ways we develop the skills necessary to read and write. In fact, studies show that the ability to name the letters of the alphabet during early childhood is a wellestablished predictor of children's literacy skills later in life. Properly knowing the alphabet means that the child can distinguish between the 26 letters of the alphabet and can also verbalize those letter sounds.

There are many different ways to approach teaching the alphabet, and because every child is different, multiple teaching. methods should be considered to ensure that all students are on the same path toward mastering letter sounds.

Parents Please Practice handwriting with your child at home.

Our class is working on handwriting. We are learning to write and spell our names. Why is handwriting important?

Handwriting allows for organized thoughts, authenticity, and even reading skills. Since the brain is consistently at work, it enhances both literacy and reading comprehension.

Encouraging children to write letters from an early age will improve their communication, social and handwriting skills, and teach them what they need to know about writing and structuring letters.

Simple Machines Celebration of Study will be held on

Changing outcomes for children is not an easy or fast process. Many educational heroes have fought for high-quality classroom experiences, reliable and authentic assessments, and whole-child approaches to learning.

Our responsibility at Ready Rosie is to ensure that EVERY interaction a young child has, whether it’s with a caregiver, teacher, or family member, is supportive of their development. All children need and deserve a nurturing, stress-free environment at school and at home.

Meck Pre-k has partner with Ready Rosie to ensure that your child is provided with the best education possible education. Ready Rosie videos are a requirement for parent involvement. We want to say thank you to INAYA SLIMANI for watching 110 videos and ARIS CHENA for watching 165 videos. Thank you for your participation and hard work.

Every Friday in January We are asking Parents To Volunteer to come Read to the class. The sign up sheet will be posted at the beginning of the Month

Our students have been working extremely hard to improve their handwriting. Children practice writing every morning and they are all doing a great job with writing this month. We would like to showcase Julian Mata & Cecily Jenneman on their hand writing accomplishments.

Reading Reading to your child starting at a young age, even before they're able to communicate verbally, will lay the neurological groundwork for effective language use and literacy. Partly because books expose children to to vocabulary and grammar that they wouldn't normally hear.
