ARCHITECTURAL INTERVENTIONS Water Taxi Connection 3 MoMa
Artist-in-residence mobility programm
This hybrid of an artist residence and a water taxi station is located directly in front of Dubrovnik‘s Museum of Modern Art. It connects the Museum to the coastline and accentuates the slightly hidden institution with a public space arranged in front of it. The building cascades down alongside the cliffs, thereby connecting the water taxi pier with the street level. Nestling to the coastline it keeps the panoramic view on the Old Town for the expensive hotels intact. The artist studio spaces for the artists are connected via an publicly accessible path system, allowing the visitors to have an insight into the artists work. This provokes interaction among the different users. The artists private and collective rooms are located more remotely underneath the studios, allowing privacy and contemplation.
