A Letter from Mark Haley

From the Desk of the President: Continually Improve Processes!

Continual improvement is ingrained in the fabric of Smart City. It’s how we have remained a leading voice in the telecommunications industry, hospitality industry, meetings and events industry, you name it, for over 40 years. As we reflect on another quarter of achievements and growth, I am proud of our commitment to progress.

In the vein of improving processes, for the second consecutive year, Smart City has been named as a Top Workplace. This recognition highlights our dedication to cultivating a workplace where innovation and excellence thrive. I’d like to congratulate our incredible team who helped make this possible.

Another area where we have seen improvement is through our Career Advancement Training program (CAT), which works to provide clarity and consistency in our onboarding and training. An important subset of CAT is our new Promotional Evaluation Testing (PET) modules, an initiative that ensures every team member possesses the skills and confidence to advance in their career. This Pinnacle issue highlights Kyle Rainey, a technician at Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas who completed the program and was promoted from a Tech I to Tech II. Continual improvement!

But it’s not just Kyle. Throughout the quarter, our Network Operations Center (NOC) team members have demonstrated remarkable dedication by obtaining a variety of security and network certifications, including the Cisco Certified Network Professional Security Certification and the Certified Ethical Hacker Certification. Their commitment to personal development strengthens our ability to provide a safe event experience.

As we celebrate these achievements, we are also honored to highlight amazing events throughout this issue. By working closely with our partnered convention centers across the nation, we strive to deliver unparalleled customer satisfaction. Together, we will keep innovating, refining processes, and delivering exceptional results that solidify Smart City Networks as a leader in our industry.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our latest Pinnacle issue, and we hope you take the time to read and enjoy it! To the top!
