Level Up!

Smart City Networks has built a reputation for delivering top-tier connectivity solutions for diverse events, whether catering to passionate gaming enthusiasts or major global gaming competitions.

Gen Con, the largest tabletop gaming convention in North America, has called Indianapolis home since 2003. With a recently extended contract through 2030, this event is beloved by diehard board gamers who gather for fun, food, and entertainment. Smart City played a crucial role in keeping the event connected, providing robust Wi-Fi for over 8,000 devices.

At PAX West, another popular event known for its mix of gaming, cosplay, and tech demonstrations, Smart City was faced with unique challenges that required creative solutions. For the 9th Avenue beer garden, our team deployed Wi-Fi outdoors to support Aramark’s POS systems by installing access points in trees. Additionally, we provided internet access for Red Bull inside a shipping container, enabling their game demos to run smoothly.

The Pokémon World Championships at the Hawai’i Convention Center was a major highlight. To accommodate the event’s high demand and multiple concurrent live streams, Smart City upgraded the venue’s network infrastructure. In partnership with ASM Global, we replaced outdated multi-mode fiber with state-of-the-art single-mode fiber and installed a new core router to enable multi-gig capabilities.
