This book is a work of fiction. All of the characters, events, and places are totally imaginary. Any resemblance to or connection with any actual events, locations, people (or mice) is purely coincidental.
Living in a haunted castle is kind of scary for a mouse like me.
Luckily, it’s not a real castle.
But there is a real ghost!
The pretend castle is really Room 123 of the Boone School. Right now, the room is filled with spooky stuff.
I live in the back wall behind a bookcase.
Ms Pigeon is the teacher.
The whole spooky thing started last week when she read the class a ghost story.
My best friend, Tuck, is the class pet and he likes to goof off. I hide in the walls and like to learn stuff.
What I’m good at, he’s not. What he’s good at, I’m not.
We’re a good team.
When Ms Pigeon reads to the class, Tuck usually isn’t interested, but he liked this book.
Especially when the ghost howled outside the castle windows.
At the stroke of midnight, the Claw tried to kidnap lovely Lady Clifton.
Fortunately, the story’s hero came swinging in on a rope to save her.
That was Tuck’s favourite part.
