E Read the texts. Then find one good heading for each text. Also find one fact from each text. Several headings and facts will be left over. Write the correct numbers. 1 Is your soul the same as your mind? Some say it is. American guitarist and singer Frank Zappa wrote a song called What’s the ugliest part of your body? The lyrics go: “Some say your nose, some say your toes, but I think it’s your mind”. What do you think? Is the soul a beautiful or ugly part of your system?

2 Leonardo da Vinci is one of the most famous painters and scientists of all times. He is known for his drawings of the inside of the human body. He drew studies of the skeleton and other parts of the body. However, recent research says that da Vinci was also looking for the human soul when he opened bodies. He was especially interested in the bodies of children and pregnant women as he wanted to find proof that the soul passed from parent to child.

3 On a web site called We Want Your Soul a group of companies called WWYS say they want to buy your soul. They will pay money enough for you to live without economic worries for the rest of your life. In exchange they will get “the rights to your soul from now and forever.” They also say that taking out your soul from your body is painless and that you will not even remember that you had a soul once the operation is done. Myself

Susan is talking about her best/worst moment at work. She was working in a hospital/restaurant where there were really drunk/sick people. A person who was a heavy man/drinker came in. There was alcohol/blood pouring out of him from many places and he was the whitest/ugliest thing Susan had ever seen. The man was shouting/saved but Susan thought it was a very funny/scary experience, anyway. She says she has learnt/dreamed a lot from the occasion. Her colleagues say she was unlucky/lucky to have seen something like that at all. Not many people do that, they say.
