4 Read and act out the dialogue
Read the dialogue in the textbook in pairs (A and B). Then, A reads HAPPY´s lines from the book. B plays Emily, using the key words below. (B can say more than this, and it doesn´t have to be exactly as in the text). Emily: Well, there’s Clive – Dylan – Bugs – and – Maddy. Also – pony called Princess – but doesn’t live – house! Emily: A little crowded – get on very well – cat and the dog! Emily: Yes – love them all. Clive – looks after himself. Only problem – a ‘present’ – dead mouse! Emily: Dylan – walks – great company – funny. Not at all smelly! Emily: No. Bugs – garage. Friendly – in the house. Clever – Bunny jumping races – lead – hurdles. Emily: Boring? Maddy – great fun – sometimes – neighbours – complain – talking and singing late at night. Emily: See Princess two or three times. Mum helps. Can’t ride – old and gets tired easily.
