“Enter Into His Gates with Thanksgiving and Praise” September 11, 2022 ~ ~ ~ OPENING SELECTION “Everybody Clap Your Hands” By: Joshua’s Troop

CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 14 Response: My hope is lost; breathe life upon me. Leader: People: Leader:

People:

Fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none that does good. The Lord looks down from heaven on all people, to see if there are any that are wise, who seek after God. They have all gone astray, they are all alike perverse; there is none that does good, no, not one.

Response: My hope is lost; breathe life upon me. Leader: People: Leader: People:

Have they no knowledge, the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon the Lord? There they shall be in great terror, for God is with the generation of the righteous. You would confound the plans of the poor, but the Lord is their refuge. O that deliverance for Israel would come from Zion! When the Lord restores their fortunes, Jacob shall rejoice and Israel shall be glad!

Response: My hope is lost; breathe life upon me.

CONGREGATIONAL SINGING “Leave It There” By: Charles A. Tindley Arr. By: Nolan Williams, Jr. Verse 1 If the world from you withhold of its silver and its gold, And you have to get along with meager fare, Just remember, in His Word, how He feeds the little bird, Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there. Verse 4 When your youthful days are gone and old age is stealing on, And your body bends beneath the weight of care, He will never leave you then, He’ll go with you to the end, Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there. Refrain Leave it there, leave it there, Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there; If you trust and never doubt, He will surely bring you out, Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there. (Verses 2 & 3 omitted.)

INVITATION TO CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRY THROUGH TITHES AND OFFERINGS By: Rev. Dr. Ken Sloane Director of Stewardship & Generosity, Discipleship Ministries, The United Methodist Church God of relentless love, the Gospel reminds us of the joy you feel, when one of your children chooses the path of repentance and redemption. We picture the celebration in your heart when that choice is made. We also know how prone we are to wander off that path as we pursue those things that satisfy ourselves only. Receive the gifts we offer this day, as a sign of our striving to get back on the path that leads us to you. We pray in the name of Jesus the Christ, the light on our path! Amen. (Luke 15:1-10)
