OPENING SELECTION “Let It Rise” By: Stephen Hurd

CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 30 Response: For the night weeping may tarry; with the morning light comes joy. Leader: People: Leader: People:

I will extol you, O Lord, for you have lifted me up, and did not let my foes rejoice over me. O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you healed me. O Lord, you brought up my soul from Sheol, restored me to life from among those gone down to the pit.

Response: For the night weeping may tarry; with the morning light comes joy. Leader: People: Leader: People: Leader: People:

Sing praises to the Lord, O his faithful ones, and give thanks to his holy name. Surely the Lord’s anger is but for a moment; the Lord’s favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning. As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.” By your favor, O Lord, you had established me as a strong mountain; you hid your face, I was dismayed.

Response: For the night weeping may tarry; with the morning light comes joy. Leader:

To you, O Lord, I cried, and to the Lord I made supplication:

People:

“What profit is there in my death, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness? Hear, O Lord, and be gracious to me! O Lord, be my helper!” You have turned my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness, that my soul may praise you and not be silent. “O Lord, my God, I will give thanks to you forever.

Response: For the night weeping may tarry; with the morning light comes joy.

INVITATION TO CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRY THROUGH TITHES AND OFFERINGS By: Rev. Dr. Ken Sloane Director of Stewardship & Generosity, Discipleship Ministries, The United Methodist Church Mighty God: We have read of the prophets of old, and how your power was often made known to them in small gestures or in a still small voice. We bring our gifts to you this day, confessing that we have often missed (or dismissed) your miracles, because they did not present themselves in dramatic, startling events or grand transformations. Give us eyes that are constantly on the lookout for the small and subtle ways you make your power and presence, love and mercy, known to us! In the name of Christ, we pray. Amen. (2 Kings 5:1-14)

BLESSING AND SENDING FORTH Go in peace. “Amen”
