CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 37:1-11 Response: Do justly, love mercy, walk humbly with your God. Leader: People: Leader: People:

Do not be angry because of the wicked, do not be envious of wrongdoers! For they will soon fade like the grass, and wither like the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; so you will dwell in the land, and enjoy security. Take delight in the Lord, who will give you the desires of your heart.

Response: Do justly, love mercy, walk humbly with your God. Leader:

People:

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in God, who will act, bringing forth your vindication as the light, and your right as the noonday. Be still and wait patiently before the Lord; do not be angry because of those who prosper in their way, because of those who carry out evil devices!

PRAYER

CONGREGATIONAL SINGING “We Shall Overcome” By: Horton, Hamilton, Carawan and Seeger Arr. By: Nolan Williams, Jr. Verse 1 We shall overcome. We shall overcome. We shall overcome someday. Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe. We shall overcome someday. Verse 2 We’ll walk hand in hand. We’ll walk hand in hand. We’ll walk hand in hand someday. Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe. We’ll walk hand in hand someday. Verse 5 The Lord will see us through. The Lord will see us through. The Lord will see us through someday. Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe. We shall overcome someday.

People: Leader: People:

Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Do not be angry; it leads only to evil. For the wicked shall be cut off; but those who wait fro the Lord shall possess the land. Yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look at their place, they will not be there. But the meek shall possess the land, and delight in abundant prosperity.

Response: Do justly, love mercy, walk humbly with your God.

MINISTRY THROUGH TITHES AND OFFERINGS By: Rev. Dr. Ken Sloane Director of Stewardship & Generosity, Discipleship Ministries, The United Methodist Church Holy God of Light and Life, That Overcomes Darkness and Death: As we offer our tithes and offerings to you this morning, we pray that we may give the confidence and assurance of those fully convinced in our promise of Resurrection! Help us to experience our generosity as those who have no need to hold back or hedge our bets. May we live our days giving freely with love and grace, not as those who have the hope of salvation, but the promise! In Christ, we pray. Amen. (1 Corinthians 15:35-38,42-50)
