CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 29 Response: With joy the Lord of Hosts proclaim; extol the great almighty name. Leader: People: Leader: People:

Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory of his name; worship the Lord in holy splendor. The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord, upon many waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful, the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

Response: With joy the Lord of Hosts proclaim; extol the great almighty name. Leader: People:

The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars, the Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon.

Leader: People:

The Lord makes Lebanon to skip like a calf, and Sirion like a young wild ox. The voice of the Lord flashes forth flames of fire.

Leader: People:

The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness, the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.

Leader:

The voice of the Lord makes the oaks to whirl, and strips the forests bare; and in his temple all cry, “Glory!”

People: Leader: People:

The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord sits enthroned as Ruler forever. May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace!

Response: With joy the Lord of Hosts proclaim; extol the great almighty name.

CONGREGATIONAL SINGING “God Never Fails” By: George Jordan Arr. By: Jeffrey P. Radford Refrain God never fails. God never fails. He abides in me. He gives me victory. No God never fails. Just keep the faith, and never cease to pray; just walk upright, call Him noon, day, or night. He’ll be there. He’ll be there. There’s no need to worry, for God never fails! Verse 1 I never worry, I never fret; for God Almighty has never failed me yet. Though ‘buked and scorned, I know that I’ve been reborn, for God never fails. Verse 2 No need to worry, no need to cry; I’ve got my Lord, I now He is on my side. Daily I trust, I never shall doubt Him, for God never fails.

MINISTRY THROUGH TITHES AND OFFERINGS By: Rev. Dr. Ken Sloane Director of Stewardship & Generosity, Discipleship Ministries, The United Methodist Church God of New Beginnings: As we move into this new year, stir in us the feelings of expectation! Kindle our hearts and minds to see possibilities for our world and for your kingdom. Help us to believe that the world we have can be better: more loving, more just, more compassionate, and looking much more like the world you’ve imagined for us. Lord, help us to give generously this day to empower that to happen. In the name of Christ, Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen. (Luke 3:15-17, 21-22)
