BOBBI JENNINGS IS THE SILVER STAR FOR JANUARY!
Bobbi was born in Albuquerque, N.M. Her mom and dad met while they were working in Washington, D.C., and when WWII began, Bobbi’s mom took her twin sisters back to New Mexico when her dad left for the war. At that time, Bobbi was not born yet and did not see her father until she was three years old. Her father was in the Army Air Corps and stayed in the Air Force until about 1962. Bobbi grew up in a military family that moved every three years. While in college, Bobbi meant her husband, Dave. They married, had three children and spent most of their time in Virginia. Bobbi substituted in the schools her kids were in until they got to high school. She took a permanent teaching job then and taught Special Education for 27 years in Virginia and in Florida. She happily stays in touch with friends whom she was in high school with in Arlington, Va. A group of 20 or 30 friends get together almost every year. This year, they met in Palm Beach! Bobbi graduated in 1958, so they have all been together for 63 years!

Brain Health University (BHU) is a Senior Lifestyle signature program that offers a curriculum of classes designed for seniors to promote brain health and cognitive engagement. BHU will start in January, and the classes will run throughout the month. Please check the calendar for class schedules.

word from your leadership team Happy New Year to all! We have gone through another wonderful holiday season with so many blessings and special gatherings in our community. We would like to take a moment to reflect on our magnificent annual traditions, such as our tree lighting ceremony, Hanukkah celebration, delightful resident holiday party, Little Smiles Toy Drive and our employee gift giving gathering. It was a memorable and heartfelt year, and now, we welcome 2022! We look forward to all our entertainment, outings and especially the kickoff of SLC’s Brain Health University this month. As we begin this fresh start, it brings us an opportunity to look back at the year past. We remember the most meaningful accomplishments, friendships, struggles, triumphs and the ability to rejuvenate and reflect on all these experiences with renewed strength and a sense of purpose. Wishing you all a glorious New Year!
