The tradition of seeking health along the thermal waters in Laško and in the area of the nearby Rimske terme reaches back centuries. During the last 60 years, Laško has become famous for its excellent medical rehabilitation. Thermana Laško and Rimske terme have integrated natural features and expert knowledge into an array of medical programs and local wellness experience.
Explore how health and well-being are connected with the brewing tradition and the luxury of beekeeping! Taste the local culinary treats included in the menus of both spas, which can be adjusted for various needs.
Friendly accessibility and access with adjusted possibilities The variety of possibilities and opportunities is also connected with green business meetings that enable the equal participation of everyone. Thermana Laško and Rimske terme have arranged access for movement-impaired persons, while the blind and visually-impaired may be able to keep their guide dogs with them in their rooms. At Thermana Laško, the hearing-impaired have mobile induction loops at their disposal. Moreover, the garden of honey plants in the spa park in Laško is equipped with signs written in Braille.
Travel and wander green
The confluence of good is accessible in many ways. To access the towns along the Savinja River, do so the environmentallyfriendly way! Select public transport, which reduces your carbon footprint. Come to a spa on the train! Use the spa train and all its benefits. You can take trips in the surroundings and experience nature with guides within the framework of preprepared or appropriately adjusted programs; or you can go for
a ramble yourself. Walkers and hikers are attracted by thematic and hiking trails, presented in the free brochure, which includes descriptions, diagrams, maps and other useful information. Rent a bike and discover the beauties of the cycling trails that are presented in a free brochure. Moreover, the confluence of the Sava and Savinja Rivers provides unforgettable rafting experiences, while the friendly countryside and its forests and meadows offer all types of horseback riding: from terrain riding to carriage rides and guided horse and pony rides. The Savinja River, Gračnica stream and Marof ponds are also suitable for fishing. Those who would like to see the world from above can go for some tandem paragliding. Furthermore, the area of thermal waters in Thermana, Rimske terme and the Aqua Roma pool complex in Rimske Toplice provides plenty of opportunities for swimming and water gymnastics. There are also tennis courts in the vicinity.
Honey stories and stories from the past Throughout the year, tourist farms and catering providers offer various seasonal dishes prepared with local ingredients. You should ask for typical dishes made with reheated cream! Discover the taste of honey and the honey plants in the special gardens in the area. In 2012, the Slovenian Beekeepers' Association declared Thermana Laško to be the most bee-friendly company in Slovenia, while in the same contest, in the category of municipalities, the Laško municipality took second place. Bee care is another form of proof of the sustainable development of the region that integrates green tourism with the Slovenian beekeeping tradition. Local goods and artisan products can be tasted at various tastings and presentations as well as in stores and at the Laško Tourist Information Centre. If you would like to hear stories about our rich cultural heritage, head out to poet Anton Aškerc's homestead in the vicinity of Rimske terme, where the 'black kitchen' and a rich literary-ethnological collection await. Here, you will also be familiarized with the sustainable keeping of chicken, traditional sheep cheese making and the making of other dairy products. The Jurklošter Carthusian church reveals special stories from the past. important events and events with special meaning for disabled athletes Throughout the year, the confluence of good is characterized by cultural, ethnographical, entertainment and other events. Pivo in cvetje is an event that lasts several days and has changed the summer in Laško into a place of music, beer, exhibitions, games and magnificent fireworks for nearly 50 years. Modern facilities also enable the organisation of conferences and other business events. The Three Lilies sports hall is a venue for training and matches for disabled athletes – especially table-tennis athletes, who compete here annually in the Slovenia Open international competition. Last year, Laško also hosted the Group B European Championship in wheelchair basketball, in which 10 teams participated in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
