Slotin Folk Art Auction will contact successful bidders with sales results during the week after the sale. Dealers purchasing for resale must enter appropriate Dealer Resale Number on this form and provide proper documentation. 1. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Premium is 25%

Artisan Shipping: 917 613-0338 / artisanshipping10@gmail.com (NY, CA)

2. Buyer pays Slotin Folk Art Auction (“Slotin”) premium of Twenty-five percent (25%) of the Lot’s Hammer price. (As used throughout these “Terms and Conditions,” “Lot” means an object or group of objects offered for sale as one unit and “Hammer Price,” means the price announced by the auctioneer when the hammer falls.) Ken Clark - 734 930-9909 / fastart773@yahoo.com

3. Slotin will accept cash, checks and credit cards. (The “Sales Price” is the Hammer Price plus the Buyer’s Premium, plus applicable taxes). Any returned check will result in a return check fee and entitle Slotin to the remedies provided under Georgia law and in paragraph 7, below. 4. Title to Lot and risk of loss or damage to the Lot passes to the Buyer when the Hammer falls (i.e. when Slotin, as agent for seller, accepts the bid). Slotin Auction shall have no liability for any damage to property left on its premises after the date of sale. The Sales Price must be paid prior to the close of the auction. Buyers with an outstanding balance after 14 days of the close of the auction will be charged a ten percent (10%) late fee on the Sales Price. Buyers must provide a credit card number in order to bid. Buyers with an outstanding balance after 14 days will be charged the outstanding balance, including (10%) late fee and (4%) credit card fee to their credit card. Slotin will have sole and absolute discretion to determine who the successful bidder is and/or may withdraw the Lot or reoffer the Lot for sale, in the event of a dispute. 5. Invoices will include shipping prices for most items. If an item is listed as “Buyer Responsible for Shipping,” we suggest you contact one of the shippers we have listed or we are happy to work with anyone you would prefer. You may pick up the items after the auction by appointment. Just email if you would like us to remove the shipping charges. 6. ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD “AS IS.” Slotin, for itself and as agent for the seller, makes no warranties or representations of any kind with respect to any Lot. Buyer agrees that in no event shall Slotin be responsible for the correctness, description, genuineness, authorship, attribution, provenance, period, culture, source, origin, value or condition of any Lot. Nothing being said or done by Slotin shall be deemed a warranty of representation or an assumption of liability by Slotin. 7. If Buyer fails to pay the Sales Price at the close of the auction or otherwise comply with these Terms and Conditions, Slotin shall be entitled to the following remedies: (1) to recover from Buyer any monetary loss arising on any resale of the Lot (including all costs of any resale or attempted resale); (2) any deposit or partial payment paid by Buyer: (3) to recover from Buyer all of its costs and expenses of collection, including attorneys’ fees of fifteen percent (15%) of the outstanding balance, interest on the outstanding balance of 1.5% per month and costs; and (4) all other relief and remedies allowed by the law. Georgia law applies and jurisdiction and venue over all disputes involving these Terms and Conditions shall be in Gwinnett County, Georgia. 8. Bidding on any Lot is acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and any and all other terms announced at the time of sale. These Conditions constitute the entire agreement between bidders and Slotin and supersede all prior agreements between them, if any. 9. Shipping Is Easy! 12. Suggest Bid Increments: $0-$500 - $25 increments. $500-1,000 - $50 increments. $1,000 and above - minimum of $100 increments. 11. Absentee Bidding Instructions: If you cannot attend this auction, but would like to bid on items, the procedure is quite simple: 1. Fill out the form on page 3, listing catalog lot number, description, and your top bid price for each item. The limit you leave should be the amount to which you would bid if you were to attend the sale. Bidding increments are listed above. Please make sure that your bids fall within these increments. At the auction, bids are handled in a competitive manner in an attempt to buy the object for less than your top bid. You will be competing against other absentee, phone and internet bidders. You will pay one bid above the next highest bid, but no more than your maximum. If two absentee bids are received with the exact same amount, the first bid received will take precedence. Slotin Folk Art Auction will always attempt to purchase designated lots for the lowest possible amount in competition with other bidders, but we cannot be held responsible for errors or failure to bid. 12. Live Phone Bidding Instructions: If you would like to be called as the lots you are interested in come up during auction, please complete the form on page 3. Items are sold in the exact order of the catalog around 45 lots an hour. List the lot number, and a brief description. Where it says bid amount or phone number, simply list the phone number you would like us to use during the auction. You may leave a back up number. There is no need to list a bid amount unless you would like the phone operator to bid for you in the event that you can-not be reached. Absentee bidding and Phone bidding is a convenience we offer to our customers and we will make every attempt to reach phone bidders as their lots come up during the auction, but we cannot be held responsible for errors, technical difficulties or failure to bid. Phone bidders may wish to view the auction live on online to check the progress of the sale and to help determine when to expect their phone calls. 13. Bidding Live on the Internet During the Auction: Bidders may place absentee bids or bid in real time along with our audience online. If you are bidding live online the Buyer’s commission is 25%. You may view the auction live for no fee. The process of bidding live on the internet is convenient, but not perfect. Your bids are submitted incrementally from Liveauctioneers to a live person in the auction hall who is executing the bids as they come in on behalf of the internet bidders while she is also typing in the bid history for each lot. She will attempt to capture the bid history as accurately as possible, but in the event of a discrepancy, the auctioneer’s records are the official records of the auction.

Morning publishers decided that they would stamp on the back of their prints 'fill in your own signature' as a play on the concept of mass production. There was a falling out between Warhol and the Sunday B. Morning publishers, possibly about money, and communication between them ceased. The Belgian printers already in possession of Warhol's negatives, went ahead and published editions of 250 of Marilyn, Flowers and Campbell's Soup in 1970. When the Sunday B. Morning editions began appearing in the art market, Warhol was not pleased. He had not stopped the production of the unauthorized prints, but when he came across a Sunday B. Morning print he would sign it "This is not by me. Andy Warhol." This only served to make the prints even more desirable. Today the black ink Sunday B. Morning prints from 1970 are rare with few having survived.

I bought it at a trading post over 40 years ago, for $2,500 dollars. Stover made this watch bracelet for himself but his nephew spent the night with him and stole the watch bracelet from him and pawned it, where I bought it. I have since met his wife and daughter. Self-taught watercolorist Norma Howard touches the heart with poignant stories of her Choctaw and Chickasaw ancestors in Oklahoma. She transports you to an earlier time by capturing moments of everyday life - a grandmother stitching a star quilt on a porch, or a boy fishing with a cane pole at a cypress-filled lake. Her style recalls the pointillism of the Impressionists, but instead of dots, she painstakingly layers tiny, basket-weave brush strokes to produce a vibrant depth of color rarely seen with watercolors. Howard, who started by painting miniatures, has moved to larger canvases that demand countless strokes to achieve her trademark richness of color and detail. "These subjects about how people survived in hard times and in everyday life that every tribe can relate to, wherever they lived. People tell me it's the details that draw them into my paintings and capture their feelings. My inspiration will always be to tell my ancestors' story and honor the way they lived" says Howard.

The work was later featured in The New York Times on November 9, 2009. Undeniably one of Alessandro’s greatest works, “Sing for Me” will mark the Argentinian-American’s debut at auction. From a single-owner collection, the work was acquired directly from the artist by the present owner in 2009. Est. $1,000-2,000. Buyer is responsible for shipping. Alessandro Pappalardo is a self-taught painter and photographer based in New York City. Using music and poetry as source material, he integrates lyrics and calligraphic imagery into his paintings through multiple layers of paint and texture in a neo- expressionist style. As is his custom, “Sing for Me” is based on one of Argentina’s most famous tangos. Unlike most tangos which often veer toward the somber and melancholy, “El Día Que Me Quieras” is that rare tango whose spirit aims for nothing less than a distillation of pure love. It is considered one of the greatest Latin American songs of the 20th century.“Sing for Me” (‘El Día Que Me Quieras’) is a prime example of how the Argentinian-American weaves his favored subject matter into his style with its sweeping brushstrokes and gestural marks in blue, black, and white hues resulting in a composition that is simultaneously controlled and brimming with vitality. Note from consignor: ‘These two quilts are from the estate of Hobbs Freeman who passed away, June 17, 2009. I knew Hobbs a little but was good friends with his best friend, Gordon Cotton, who pass away in 2020. Cotton was a local historian and writher and he and Hobbs lived by each other on the same property. I got a lot of quilts from the estate both Folk Art ones and some regular perfect patterned and colored ones. When I acquired the quilts, I went to Gordon about them because they are so unique. He told me that Hobbs parents had owned a country store in Fayette, Mississippi. He said it was his understanding that the Folk Art ones had been traded for goods at the store by some of their poor customers. Fayette is a very small town and most of its population has always been very poor. My best deduction is the quilts are 80 to 100 years old.’

For thirty years, self-taught artist Lee Steen (1897-1995) lived with his twin brother Dee and was known around Roundup, Montana, for his yard full of mechanical junkyard animals and "Tree People," fashioned from cottonwood branches into humanoid characters (perhaps with the addition of an old flower pot or tin cup hat and button eyes). Lee moved into a nursing home in 1972 and passed away in 1975. His mechanical creatures were lost, but much of his scrap wood art was rescued and preserved for continuing display by John A. Armstrong, of the Yellowstone Art Center, and Jim Todd, of the University of Montana, took an interest in Steen's work, and organized an exhibition thereof in 1973. Armstrong arranged for the preservation of some of Steen's work, and removed some pieces of it to Arizona. Many of the remaining pieces were given to the Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art in Great Falls, Montana; a new wing of the museum was constructed in 1996 to house the sculptures.
