t was in 1923 that the Schramm family first got the bug for product design, when, Karl Schramm senior founded an upholstery and saddlery in Alsenborn, Germany. Now, nearly 100 years later, Schramm have remained true to creating quality goods, but with a firm focus on sleep wares and bed manufacture. Having understood that the basic function of sleep is not just a biological necessity that can be claimed at any time, but also something that can be sensual, secure and nurturing for the soul. Man with all their unique needs has, over time, adapted the bed to the individual’s wellbeing and put it at the center of his need for relaxation and lifestyle. I started working in an interior decorator’s shop during school and this was the beginning of my interest in interior decoration and design.
