WHO WE ARE

Founded in 1934 by four Idlewild Debutantes, Slipper Club was the first women’s organization in Dallas. Slipper Club offers a unique network of friendship and opportunities for professional women throughout Dallas. In 1995, Slipper Club expanded its mission to include community service, a charitable giving program, and became a 501(c) (3) organization. Today, with more than 500 members, the women of Slipper Club are committed to helping lift up our community by serving Dallas-area women and children.

Each year, Slipper Club researches and selects a charity to serve as the sole beneficiary of the club’s fundraising efforts. Members spend the year volunteering and supporting the selected beneficiary culminating in Slipper Club’s Annual Gala and Silent Auction.

With your help, we have raised more than $730,000 for local non-profit organizations and charitable agencies.

OUR 2017 –2018 BENEFICIARY

This year, Slipper Club has selected Camp Sweeney as our beneficiary. Camp Sweeney is part of The Southwestern Diabetic Foundation, and since opening in 1950, has become the largest camp in the world for children with type 1 diabetes.

Every summer, Camp Sweeney serves over 1,000 children. For some, attending is their only exposure to a real summer camp experience. Along with summertime fun, campers learn how to independently manage their diabetes with habits that help combat the long-term physical and psychological effects. This life-style enhancing program builds confidence and empowers children to have the strength to make healthy choices. The camp provides a place where every child can discover what makes them special, not what makes them different. without a single complication from my diabetes.

Slipper Club is preparing for the 22nd Annual Gala and Silent Auction. This evening offers the women and friends of Slipper Club an opportunity to gather in support of our beneficiary.

The black-tie affair includes a silent auction with over one hundred items ranging from local restaurant and entertainment experiences to vacation packages, sports memorabilia, and beauty, fitness, health, jewelry, art and fashion items. Additionally, there will be dancing with live entertainment and a casino with the opportunity to win raffle items.

Proceeds from our silent auction, donations, and other fundraising efforts throughout the year will benefit Camp Sweeney. We would love your help to make this year’s efforts a success.

DONATE TODAY Any donation, small or large, monetary or item based, will give children with type 1 diabetes the opportunity to learn how to manage their diabetes in a caring, supportive and fun environment. Funds raised for Camp Sweeney will be applied to a special “campership” (or financial aid) to support those who otherwise could not attend camp. Camp Sweeney currently provides financial aid to over 86% of campers and your support will ensure that no camper is turned away due to financial limitations.
