Who are Team Oliver Racing?
Team Oliver Racing are a truck racing team who compete in the British Truck Racing Championship and selected European Events, with this year marking their 27th year of racing. They are headed up by principal race driver and founding member Stuart Oliver who brings vast experience, expertise, and leadership to the team.
Stuart has competed in many championships, numerous races and track events and has certainly made himself a permanent fixture on the podium throughout the years. Alongside him is son and fellow race driver Michael Oliver. Michael’s race career is slightly shorter than Stuart’s, but he is certainly making use of his strong racing genes and is making his mark on the track already collecting many trophies and awards.
Supporting the drivers are of course our strong in-house expert team of mechanics. Handpicked to join the team, between them they certainly know their way round a truck.
Using their skill and knowledge to work under sometimes extreme pressure and tight timescales these individuals are the backbone to keep the drivers on the track and bringing home the silverware!
British & European Truck Racing Championship
Truck racing events offer a high degree of entertainment with a mixture of fast actionpacked racing, truck-manufacturer vehicle demonstrations, show-truck displays and competitions, transport industry exhibitions, stunt shows, live concerts, fireworks and family fun zones.
Every year up to 450,000 spectators visit the race events in the UK and across Europe.
A typical truck-racing spectator is male, between 25 and 45 years of age and working in the truck industry or related industries. Most bring their families as truck racing offers entertainment suitable for people of all ages.
Media and TV
Truck racing has remarkable media exposure via a variety of mediums reaching thousands of people and industry connections throughout the year. The British and European Truck Racing Championships boast their own YouTube channels which live stream all events with full commentary and driver interviews making the racing accessible for all.
In 2022, the Championship saw over 425,500 people tune in to watch the racing. This figure is set to rise as the racing grows in popularity; as every race has a record attendance and sell out crowds. After each event a full racing programme is aired on various TV Channels including; Sky Sports and Amazon Prime. In 2022, Top Gear ran an episode dedicated to British Truck racing; this was largely organised by and featured Team Oliver’s race driver Stuart Oliver. The teams of the Championship put on a race which included all 3 presenters, Paddy McGuinness, Andrew Flintoff and Chris Harris, took part.
UK audience figures of this episode alone were in excess of 4 million and the broadcast was aired globally. Both, the Championship and Team have excellent engagement across our social media channels and website. The large following and engagement gives sponsors additional exposure. Further to this the promotors work to extend the coverage via classic media such as; magazines, newspapers, and newsletters ensuring that news distribution is fast and up to date.
