Sligo Book Club will meet on Wednesday, February 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Discipleship Room to discuss “Skipping a Beat” by Sarah Pekkanen. Nightfall - a black-tie event, hosted by Sligo Young Adults, will be held on February 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Maggianos in Chevy Chase. Enjoy an evening of fine dining, giveaways, live music and a photo booth to capture the night’s most memorable moments. Tickets are required. Financial Workshop: Have you ever wished someone would show you how to prepare a budget for yourself or how to balance your checking account? Or what about finding a reputable person to call for home and appliance repairs? These and other financial issues will be discussed at the Financial Workshop on Sunday, 2:00 p.m. in Fellowship A, sponsored by the Heartlifters and for the Heartlifters. Welcome to Sligo! Today we continue our series on the church as community. (Exodus 20:8-11; 1 Peter 2:21). • Jesus is coming back to earth personally and visibly to raise the righteous dead and give His faithful children of all ages immortality in an earth made new. (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Revelation 22:12; 21:1-3). • Our love for God is demonstrated primarily by our love for our fellowmen. (1 John 4:20; Matthew 25:34-40).
