benchwall + thinwall + fanning bench are three modular elements that can each function independently or connect to one another by magnetic end panels.

paper bench with a 1.8 meter (6’) tall back rest that functions as an acoustic space partition as well as seating. Flexible in length, benchwall can stretch into a long straight, high backed bench or be swept into a circular bench lined room for intimate meetings with impressive acoustic absorption. thinwall is a flexible wall measuring only 90mm (3.5”) wide. It offers diverse applications such as an acoustic, sculptural interior space liner for solid walls, columns, and ceilings; a flexible wrap for closet/ storage areas, reception desks, and other millwork; or a partition for shaping more intimate areas within any larger space. fanning bench is available in several sizes, and the 455mm (18”) tall x 455mm (18”) wide version has a modular cross section that matches and connects to benchwall and can alternately be formed into a circular table or bench by connecting its magnetic end panels together.

thinwall can be used as an acoustic sculptural covering over solid walls and structures, or as a space divider, if braced by other elements, such as molo fanning stools + tables.

thinwall can be freestanding if positioned in curves, but is not as stable or mobile as molo’s iconic softwall - available in 305mm (12”) and 455mm (18”) thicknesses. Please ask for advice on the items best suited to your project.

benchwall + thinwall compliment molo’s larger collection of flexible honeycomb walls, building blocks, seating and lighting made from paper and textiles. All materials used are renewable, recycled and/or recyclable. The honeycomb structures allow a little material to go a long way with a standard softwall being 99% air and 1% material when it is fully expanded.
