Cartesian Prism Planes, Frames, Spaces A prism is defined by the total extent of all it’s physical parts. In this project I explored how to define different spaces by using planes and frames.

After making a cube that measures 8 inches on all sides, one space was chosen to be “activated” to make a new, final piece that has new a clear hierarchy.

After working on an irritative design over 2 weeks a space was chosen to be copied, rotated, and inversed to create a hierarchy that emphasizes it.

Action Space Sequence or Something A spaces given to an artist for their work, including at least three spaces that relate to their work. An existing wall in the space had to be worked around, not allowing the wall to be broken into multiple pieces.

The famous English minimalist play write Samuel Beckett was the “client” for this project.

Three spaces were defined: a library, a theater, and an office. An exploration into using minimal walls to define the three separate spaces was also conducted in the experiment.

House, Home, Habitat Grid Over Form Exploring the overlying design philosophy in the a famous house by constructing design strategies that were probably present in his work. This was achieved through creating diagrams of the buildings.

The selected house (Villa Shodhan) had four design strategies; Establish order through a grid system, Establish hierarchy through displacement of solids, Establish boundaries through porous planes, and Division of space through vertical displacement.
