The date of this coming event is Saturday, March 1st, 2013. Madison, Wisconsin (2/13/2014)— Local business leaders have joined the March of Dimes West Wisconsin Division Board of Directors. Chanel Tyler, M.D., UW Health/Meriter Hospital Kay-Tee Franke, Engaging Results Communications Angela Baker, MS, RN, RNC-NIC, UW Health American Family Children’s Hospital Ann Lahde, CPA, SVA CPA Paola Fliman, M.D., St. Mary’s Hospital Tamara Schwartzer, CUNA Mutual Group Kristie Maurer, Fresh Madison Market Patti J. Jackson, Northwestern Mutual The Board of Directors will play an integral role in raising awareness and funds to advance the scientific research and educational programs at the core of the March of Dimes effort to find causes and preventions for preterm birth and birth defects. The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. In addition to our advocacy and community programs, last year March of Dimes provided more than $1 million to Wisconsin universities, and almost $100 million nationally and internationally, to fund research to prevent premature birth and birth defects. Of the 68,000 babies born each year in Wisconsin, 7,400 are born prematurely, and more than 2,000 are born with a birth defect.
