Introduction / Portfolio

Same as many other people growing up having different dream changes ; I didn’t grow up thinking of me being an Architect or an Urban designer.

It’s not up until recent years where I was capivated by how Architecture and Urban Design can be a leading factor to the forming of a healthy society.

TAIPEI OBSERVATIONAL DRAWINGS Introduction In my Taipei Observational Drawings project, I find myself captivated by the diverse architectural wonders that grace the city. My goal is to study their shapes, shadows, and lighting.

By using different materials and media, I aim to showcase the textures and highlights of these structures.

The chosen subjects also serve as inspiration for my future projects, shaping my artistic exploration and understanding.

Introduction In my project, “Coloured Taiwan,” I focus on creating colorful studies using different materials.

My aim is to showcase a variety of styles, atmospheres, and moods that I find visually appealing in various places across Taiwan.

By exploring the diverse color palettes present in Taiwan’s landscapes, from vibrant streets to serene mountain retreats, I bring these locations to life in my artwork.

By exploring different techniques and styles in my artwork, I gain valuable insights into which ones resonate with me the most and deserve further attention. While also identifying those that may not align with my artistic vision.

This process of experimentation and self-discovery helps me refine my focus and understand the artistic direction I want to pursue.

CONCEPT

Architecture / Sections

The design of the exterior of the tea house draws inspiration from the integration with nature, and the tea house itself will be a green building.

I wanted to combine some European architectural styles, so I was drawn to the European-style iron fences and the European town from Studio Ghibli's films.

At the same time, I wanted to achieve simplicity and interesting structures, so I also looked into the Japanese aesthetic of "zen."

The idea for the tea house came about because most residential buildings in Taiwan are mixed-use, combining residential and commercial purposes.

It's hard to walk through the streets of Taiwan's cities without noticing how much Taiwanese people love plants, which led to the idea of incorporating green elements into the architecture.

I went to Tamsui and saw many European buildings and unique structural designs, such as arches, including the Tamsui Fort San Domingo and the Golden Tulip Fab Hotel. There are many examples. Taiwan has also been deeply influenced by Japanese culture, so I tried incorporating some Japanese elements like "zen" and tatami mats, among others.
