What is the 8001 System?
The 8001 Remote System was designed to do three things:
FIRST: to create a product that allows users to control their fireplace with their desired Smart Home System.
SECOND: ensure that the 8001 System is Backwards Compatible for our most popular remote systems.
THIRD: to not limit the 8001 to any particular Smart Home System.
Simple Set Up
1: Add your preferred Smart Plug to your Smart Home System and name it “Fireplace”.
2: Then, plug the Adapter into the Smart Plug. Plug the Transmitter into the Adapter (the adapter isn’t necessary if your smart plug has a UBS port)
3: Pair the Transmitter with the Receiver the same way as any other On/Off Skytech Remote Control.
Why is there no Smart Plug included in the 8001 or 8001-TX?
It’s possible for Skytech to include a Smart Plug, but that would force the 8001 to become dependent on whatever Smart Home System that particular Smart Plug works with. By not including a Smart Plug, we allow customers to use their existing Smart Home System that has a Smart Plug they already know & use.
Will this work on my Customers Fireplace?
Answer these two questions:
1: Does your customer use a Smart Home System with Smart Plugs?
2: Will the customers fireplace operate with a standard dry-contact 1001-A Receiver?
If you answered YES to both of these questions, then the 8001 System will work.

Which Smart Plug is best for the 8001 & 8001-TX? That’s the beauty of this system... it doesn’t matter! All a Smart Plug does is tell something to turn on or off (power or no power). We simply use that function to turn the fireplace on or off.
