NEW WORKS Axis’ Bristol and Glasgow sites and departments, leveraging twenty years of world-building experience to create a historically accurate and detailed world. ADoW season two airs on Sky One and NOW TV (UK).
Our resident Axis boasts an international team of directors, designers, artists, animators, writers and producers, working across its studios. Spanning three UK studios, Axis is the largest animation studio in Scotland at Skypark, it also has one of the largest CGI teams in the UK.

A historically accurate Elizabethan London for Sky One's A Discovery of Witches
Axis recreated an entire CG Elizabethan London for the second season of Sky One's original drama, A Discovery of Witches based on the All Souls trilogy by Deborah Harkness. The team delivered 100 shots for 10 episodes over a span of 18 months, which included working throughout the challenges of the COVID pandemic.
The Elizabethan London landscape is witnessed from above in several of ADoW’s full-CG aerial establishing shots, and from within for numerous scenes set inside the city. The multidisciplinary team worked on the reconstruction across
Visual Spectacle for the latest Music Video from K/DA
Axis Studios teamed up with Riot Games to create the explosive music video for virtual girl group sensation K/ DA's latest single, "MORE". The long-awaited release took YouTube by storm, with over 200K viewers tuning in for the live premiere on the official League of Legends' channel and 9M views in just over 24 hours.
It brought to life the virtual band which includes alternate universe versions of League of Legends champions Akali, Evelynn, Ahri, and Kai'Sa, along with guest artist and new champion Seraphine. Led by directors Marc and Denis Bouyer, Riot Games partnered with Axis to deliver a highquality animation piece that would resonate with K/DA fans everywhere.
In-Game Cinematics for Sony’s PlayStation 5 Launch Title: Sackboy: A Big Adventure
Sackboy: A Big Adventure is Sackboy’s first stand-alone game and one of 19 launch titles for Sony's long-awaited next-generation Playstation 5 console.
Axis collaborated with the Playstation 5 team as the cinematics partner to define the cinematic style and develop the storytelling language. Working closely with partners Sony and Sumo from script to 2D storyboards, to edit; all the way to final real-time cinematic, ensured the clear-cut linking of the narrative to the look and feel of the surrounding gameplay.

Axis’ recent awards include three Daytime Emmys and an Annie Award for Amazon Prime Video’s Lost in Oz; a BAFTA Scotland award for Netflix’s Love, Death & Robots; a BIFA award for A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon; a VES nomination for Netflix’s Happy; and an RTS Craft & Design Award for Channel 4’s Kiss Me First.
