Glow Not Burn Out:
SKIN HAIR
It starts sagging and wrinkling early. Smoking reduces blood flow, starving your skin of nutrients and oxygen. Collagen and elastin, the things that keep you looking youthful, get damaged, leaving you with dull and tired skin.
Those toxins damage hair follicles, causing shedding, thinning, and even early graying. Your crown deserves better.
TIPS TO KEEP YOUR N AT URAL GLOW
Want that soft, radiant, no-filter-needed skin? Here's how to slay the glow way:
1.HYDRATE: Water is life. It flushes out toxins and keeps your skin fresh and plump.
2.EAT HEALTHY: What you eat shows on your skin. Go for fruits, veggies, and foods rich in vitamins. Your glow starts from within.
3.EXERCISE: move that body, girl! It boosts circulation, gives you a natural blush, and helps your skin look alive.
4.Have 6-8 hours of sleep: Rest is not lazy-it's beauty fuel. Sleep helps your skin repair and keeps those eye bags away.
5.Have a skincare routine: Cleanse, moisturize, and protect with gentle products. Your skin deserves consistency and love.
6.Stay smoke-free: Smoking dries out your skin, damages your insides, and dims your sparkle. If it's not giving glow, let it go.
7.Use gentle products for your body and face. Harsh is out. Soft and smooth is in. Treat your skin kindly and it'll thank you.
How Smoking Stea ls Your Shine
Hey SKY Buddies,
By Yvonne Phiri
Is it just me or maybe you've also noticed how movies and social media make smoking seem cool, but let's get real, it's not giving what you think. Smoking speeds up aging, dulls your glow, and messes with your whole vibe. Let's unpack how even just one puff can have an effect on your skin, hair, nails, smile and your health in general.
TEETH
Think bad breath, yellow teeth, gum damage, and even tooth loss. Plus, smoking weakens your immune system, lowers oxygen flow, and can trigger stress, anxiety, and fatigue. And let's not forget the big ones-heart disease and cancer.
NAI L S
Yellow and stained thanks to tar and nicotine. Even your mani-game suffers, definitely not slay.
8.Be confident in your own skin: Confidence is the real flex. No matter your skin type or shade, own it-you were made to shine.
9.Protect your peace: Cut off toxic people, habits, and vibes. Inner peace reflects outward. Glowing skin starts with a glowing soul.
10.Stay true to yourself, stay authentic: Don't follow the crowd, be the girl who glows differently because she knows what she wants and doesn’t want in her life.
Smoking seriously messes you/your body up in the long run, even if you don't see it happening right now.
The damage just builds up in your body more and more as time goes by, from the glow of your skin to the strength of your nails and the brightness of your smile- smoking steals it all.
That's the real tea, gurll, Elo sivintu vatu vama smoking. Stay glowing. Stay slaying. Stay true.
My dearest Michie, I wish you could see how beautifully everything turns out. Right now, Mathematics and Chemistry feel like an uphill battle, and its teachers, Mr. Mulenga and Ms. Kisamba, seem determined to make your life difficult, or so you think. That boy you have a crush on ignored you again. Fun fact: you’ll date him after school, and when you do, you’ll realise he was never as great as you imagined. The magic you saw in him? That was you all along.
You often feel like you’re “too much” yet “not enough.” Too tall, too skinny, not pretty “enough,” not smart “enough.” But who decides these things?
Your teen years aren’t meant to be spent shrinking yourself to fit in. They are for discovering everything that makes you uniquely Michelo Kalumba Ndisa Malambo. It’s for finding passions and outgrowing them, making mistakes, and learning resilience. For filling your own cup, so you can pour into those who truly matter.
I know some days feel impossibly hard. The bullies who tease you about your thick lips will one day pay for lip fillers, funny right? The boys who laugh at your height will later be too intimidated to approach you. The things that make you stand out now, the ones you wish you could change; will become the very things that set you apart in the best way.
Your kindness, talent, wit, and intelligence will open doors far greater than any superficial worry. You will achieve things beyond your wildest dreams, not because you fit in, but because you embraced everything that makes you, YOU.
One day, you’ll stand tall. Not just in height, but in confidence. You’ll see that the magic you were searching for was always within you. So be patient with yourself. Love yourself a little louder. And when doubt creeps in, remember: the best is yet to come. Don’t let life pass you by. Live, breath, dance, laugh, love all the journey through.

GI VEN MUSA N YA KA POLYO
“The Advocacy Champion A voice for all”
In a conversation filled with purpose and passion, Given Musanya Kapolyo, a 2024 Global Young Ambassador and Campaigns & Mobilization Officer at the Center for Trade Policy and Development, shared what drives her tireless advocacy work.
“I love that my job allows me to be a voice for people who are often unheard,” she told us. “I do this work to protect lives and push for justice.”
Her journey began not with a grand plan, but with purpose. Starting as an intern, Given quickly impressed her team with her advocacy skills and ability to mobilize communities. Today, she influences policy at national and international levels. “Advocacy found me,” she said. “I saw the damage smoking was doing to our communities and I couldn’t look away. I know that tobacco is a silent killer and I wanted to make a change.”
Advocacy is about speaking up and taking action to support a cause you believe in. It's using your voice, your ideas, and even your social media to make a positive change.
So, tobacco control advocacy means speaking out against cigarettes, vapes, shisha, and other tobacco products. It’s about standing up for your right to live in a smoke-free world, where you and your friends aren’t pressured into smoking and can make positive decisions for yourselves.
With a Bachelor's degree in Civic Education and English, and a Master’s in Governance, Human Rights and Development, her education plays a big role. But she believes both education and experience matter. “Classroom knowledge taught me policy, but working in the field taught me how to bring it to life.”
Before her current role, Given was a volunteer with Youth4Parliament, a grassroots movement that strengthens young people's role in civic life. That experience laid the foundation for the advocate she is today. What stands out is her humility and honesty about the challenges. “One mistake I made was underestimating how far-reaching entrenched industry interests/ influence can be. Passion alone isn’t enough—we need strategy, data, and a united effort.” Her strength? Making complex policies understandable for the people who need them most.
Given believes the future of advocacy is youth-led, women-driven, and digitally powered. “Health policies must go beyond paper. Implementation is where lives are saved.”
She encourages teen girls to step into the arena and be agents of change. “Do it! Your voice matters. Don’t wait for permission. Create your own space and show up especially when it’s hard.”
What’s helped her along the way? Purpose, community, and a belief that the world can change. “I’ve never chased titles,” she said. “I’ve chased justice.”
Given is also passionate about storytelling and recommends girls read Finding Me by Viola Davis and We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. “These books remind you to own your voice, even when the world tries to silence it.”
Her motto? “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
Outside her work, she values loyal, bold friends who bring warmth after long days of advocacy. “We need people who remind us why we keep fighting.”

SHALOM KATONGO
aka Shanaenae
She certainly ain’t no basic girlie! You might know this TikToker as Shanaenae, but Shalom Chanda Katongo is doing much more than just growing a community on TikTok! When she isn’t in front of the camera, she is busy being a videographer, or a baker, or podcast host, or singer. In her own words, ‘ Basically, I make magic happen in front of, and behind the camera’.
She’s that girl because she might be thriving now, but she’s travelled her own personal journey with self doubt to become who she is today. “I embrace every bit of myself.”
“I am That Girl, and I keep being That Girl by simply being myself and not letting the world shape me into someone I’m not. I use everything I went through growing up to build myself into the person I want to become, instead of letting it break me.
To me, being smoke-free means choosing a life that’s healthy, clear, and in control. I want to protect both my mind and my body.”
Being That Girl doesn’t mean being perfect—it means being true to yourself. It's about making bold choices, protecting your peace, staying smoke-free, and shining in your own lane. These inspiring women are unapologetically walking in their truth, chasing their dreams, and showing us that the best glow-up starts from within, smoke-free. Let’s meet them.
BOMBSHELL GRENADE
Bombshell has been in the game for over a decade, being one of Zambia’s leading rappers.
But that’s not all! Bombshell has diversified and has been seen leading her own reality show on a pan-African level, she’s an entrepreneur, a brand ambassador, an influencer, and a model. What she sets her sights on, she achieves it.
“I am That Girl because I appreciate my fans, I’m confident, and I always stay true to myself.
I’m smoke-free because smoking just isn’t cool— As an artist, and brand influencer I know that the best way to stay campaign-ready is by taking care of myself from within and one of the ways I do that is by avoiding smoking as it affects the skin, my voice and general health.
To all the girls out there, don’t fall for peer pressure. Take your time, and wait to blossom.”
MARGARET BELEMU
We have popped in her bio. Meet Super Maggie, AKA Margaret Belemu! This awesome footballer plays for Zambia's National Women's team and the Red Arrows WFC. Get this: kicking goals has taken her ALL OVER, like Turkey and Shanghai! Her skills are so next-level, she even played at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics! And guess what? She's got a message just for YOU, the SKY Nation...
“As a Zambian footballer, I made a bold choice to stay smoke-free because it helps me maintain my physical fitness and perform at my best on the pitch. That’s one of the things that makes me That Girl.”
“I’m also That Girl because I’m confident, hardworking, and committed to achieving my goals and dreams and as your big sis, I would want nothing more than for you to be just as confident in yourself and your dreams”.
MICHELO MALAMBO
aka 'MICHIE ZAMBIA'S SWEETHEART'
From being behind the mic presenting radio shows, including her own show Sweetheart radio, to being on our TV screens whether hosting or acting, Michie is showing that you can do it all. The model turned presenter, and influencer also gives back to her community through charity work, and is a role model to many young girls. Her ability to connect and resonate with so many people is what makes her Zambia's sweetheart for real.
“I’m brave enough to go after everything I want. I wanted to be a model and TV personality—and I’m doing that. I wanted to be a wife and a mom—and I’m doing that, too. That’s exactly what makes me That Girl.
I don’t think smoking looks cool at all—it leads to addiction. I choose to be smoke-free because I love being in control. I wouldn’t want to be controlled by tobacco or nicotine. Plus, smoking damages your skin—and I’m not about to intentionally harm my beautiful skin.”
NGAWA DAKA
Ngawa Daka is coming into her own self, and living her best life while doing it! The 20 year old content creator says that while she battled insecurities growing up, she always desired to be a strong woman, and that’s what continues to motivate her. Every decision she makes is about taking her closer to her goal.
“I stick to my comfort zone. I do things I’m truly comfortable with—things that define me. I don’t do things just because everyone else is doing them. I prioritize myself, even in small ways, like improving my vocabulary or the way I walk. I invest in myself—and that’s what makes me That Girl.
I’m smoke-free because it doesn’t align with my lifestyle. Smoking literally damages your body.”
MWAKA HALWIINDI
Is there any need to introduce her? The very definition of black girl joy, Mwaka is a beauty queen, a model, influencer, actress, and overall it girl. What many people dont know is that Mwaka recovered body dysmorphia after suffering from body shaming. But through positive affirmations, therapy and self-care practices, she’s able to appreciate her body for all it does for her. Today Mwaka is thriving, resilient and empowered, embracing her authentic self.
“I tell myself that I am That Girl—because I believe it. I carry myself with a certain level of confidence, and I give myself the positive words of affirmation I need to stay grounded. I live by the words: “I AM THAT GIRL!”
“It takes a deep understanding of yourself to navigate life. We all face peer pressure, but what works for someone else might not work for you”.
“I choose a smoke free life because it protects my health and my self-esteem, empowering me to prioritise my future aspirations”.
Mwaka Halwiindi
Content Creator & Model
“Dancing while I cook my favourite meal. That’s my happy place! I literally play my favourite tunes and just let go. The joy that comes from doing what I love helps me release any anxious feelings and completely lifts my mood.”
Ngawa Daka
Lifestyle Influencer
“When pressure builds, I lean on people I trust. Spending time with loved ones, listening to R&B, or just watching some chilled YouTube videos helps me reset. It’s all about slowing down and reconnecting with calm.”
Feeling overwhelmed? You’re not alone, girl. In Zambia, we call stress ‘pressure’ and it’s something all of us experience from time to time. Whether it’s school, friendships, family, or just the pace of life, things can get heavy.
We spoke to 7 of your fave Zambian celebs and influencers who live smoke-free and asked them how they bust stress, stay grounded, and keep glowing. Their tips might just inspire your next stress-free moment!
Bombshell Grenade
Musician & Entrepreneur
“Whenever I’m feeling stressed, I turn to prayer and uplifting podcasts. And sometimes… I go shopping! Something else not many people know? I actually listen to my own music to get back into my zone.
‘Starring’ is one of those tracks that reminds me of who I am—it brings out my true self and reminds me I’m That Girl.”
Margaret Belemu Footballer
“Pressure may come, but I always remind myself that there are healthier ways to cope, instead of smoking or picking up unhealthy coping mechanisms I choose to move my body. Whether it’s exercising, praying, listening to gospel music, or just doing something creative, it helps me feel grounded. I believe everyone has their own unique outlet, find yours and lean into it.”
Sam Sakala aka Dope G
Rapper & Actor
“When I’m under pressure, I dive into workouts, make music, or pick up a good book. But one of the biggest stress-busting moves for me? Logging off! Because social media can be for pressure sometimes, so I unplug and reconnect with nature. Fresh air and stillness can do wonders.”
Shalom
aka Shanaenae
Social Media Influencer
“When I’m under pressure, gospel music is my go-to. It reminds me that God is in control, and everything will work out in the end. I also believe in having passion and a plan. In the beginning, you might be your only cheerleader, but don’t give up. Be consistent, stay disciplined, and don’t forget: failing to plan is planning to fail.”
Mitchie Zambia’s Sweetheart
Model, Radio & TV Personality
“I don’t smoke, even when I’m stressed. Instead, I hit the gym, pray, blast gospel music, or pour my energy into something creative. Smoking just slows you down—mentally, physically, emotionally. I’d rather keep rising.”
You don’t need to copy to connect. Real friends love the real you. So, if your style is part girly, part tomboy, and a ka chitenge twist, rock it. Be inspired but stay true.
Girl let’s be real, you’re not alone. We’ve all found ourselves vibing with what our bestie is wearing, jamming to her playlist, or even switching up how we talk because the squad says, “that’s the wave.” It’s normal to be influenced by your circle; friendship is about connection, after all. But here’s the tea: don’t lose your sauce trying to copy someone else’s flavour.
You were born with your own sparkle. If you start dressing, talking, thinking like someone else 24/7, you might forget what makes you magic. Following trends isn’t the issue; it’s forgetting your own vibe that becomes a red flag.
Here’s the trick: ask yourself WHY you’re doing something. Is it because it excites you? Or just to fit in and avoid being called “weird”? Trust, being different isn’t weird, it’s powerful.
Try
3 Questions to Check Your Vibe. When you’re not sure if you’re being true to YOU, pause and ask:
Your gut is wise. If something feels off, don’t ignore it.
this: 1 2 3
Are you choosing it because it’s you, or because you’re scared of standing out?
“If no one was watching would I still do this ” “Does this feel good in my spirit or am I lowkey uncomfortable ” “Am I doing this to fit in or to express myself ”
There’s a difference between blending in and dimming your light.
The goal isn’t to be a copy-paste queen. You don’t have to copy what your friends do. The goal is always to be you, fully. Loudly. Proudly.

MEET THE COVER GIRLS
What's up SKY sistahs!? For this edition, we held an online competition, asking what makes you 'that girl', and the responses were absolutely amazing. But in this case, there could only be three winners, and you chose; Liseli, Chimwemwe and Maambo. Let’s find out what makes them 'that girl!'
LISELI HUEY MULIYA (15)
I am in grade 9 at Chilenje South Secondary School. When I complete high school, I want to study medicine and become a paediatrician.
I am that girl because I never let anyone tell me who I am or who I should be, and I have the energy to prove it. When my biggest supporter, my Dad told me I had won the cover competition I jumped for joy and I was very happy. I love modelling, so being on the cover of SKY magazine was really shocking. The photoshoot really left me speechless, I've never had so much fun apart from the SKY Hub reopening, the food was amazing and I got to meet Michie (Zambia’s Sweetheart) and Mwaka (Hlwindi), who really inspire me and I made new amazing friends. I also got to meet some of the magazine writers and they were absolutely friendly; everyone's energy just screamed 'you're welcome' which made me feel really comfortable. No one knew me but they were so kind and they all welcomed me with smiles. My biggest highlight of the shoot was the friendliness and welcome I received from everyone, they never made me feel left out even though they did not know me.
Winning Entry
I'm that girl because I dare to be myself, even when fear whispers doubts in my ear. I stay true to my voice, my passions, and my quirks. I'm a girl who's still figuring things out, but I refuse to let uncertainty define me. Instead, I own my strengths and weaknesses, and I'm unapologetically me.
I'm that girl because I choose authenticity over perfection, and self-love over self-doubt. I'm a work in progress, and I'm proud of the girl I'm becoming.
As a girl who's often scared, I thought I'd let fear define me. But instead, I've learned to stay true to myself, even when it's hard. I refuse to let others dictate my path or dim my light. I'm a work in progress, and that's okay. I'm figuring things out, and I'm doing my best.
In a world that can be overwhelming, I've found solace in being me - quirks and all. I won't let fear or doubt hold me back from being authentic. I'm learning to trust myself, and that's the greatest lesson of all. Being me, imperfectly perfect, is enough.

CHIMWEMWE NGOMA (18)
I completed my high school in 2023 and now I want to study Human Resource Management because it describes who I am.
I believe I am 'that girl' because I am free to be myself and speak my mind without letting anyone define who I am and not letting their words influence my choices. The shoot was very fun and I really enjoyed it. I really loved it when the lovely photographer (Natasha Legacy) was telling me how to pose because I felt like I am That Girl with every pose she told me to do and I am confident I looked amazing in every picture she took. My favorite part of the entire shoot was definitely the brilliant photographer, she was very kind and she made me feel comfortable and confident. Also, meeting all the kind girls.
Winning Entry
I'm that girl because I own my individuality and celebrate what makes me unique. I'm unapologetically myself, whether that means embracing my quirks or taking risks. My confidence isn't about seeking validation from others, but about trusting my instincts and believing in my worth. I'm a girl who's not afraid to speak her mind, stand up for what she believes in, and inspire others to do the same.

MAAMBO MUBAGWE (17)
I completed my high school last year at Munali Girls and now I want to study law.
What makes me that girl is how I rise to meet any challenge, my kindness ,individuality, and how I always stay true to myself.
I would always stack up on the SKY magazine and had always wanted to be part of it. So when I found out I was going to be on the cover I was very ecstatic and I just couldn't wait. Eish! At first I was so nervous and when I got here I thought everyone would be rude but I was proven wrong. I loved everything and everyone was such a vibe and so pretty. Even when my makeup was being done I felt a bit shy to talk but my heart skipped a beat when I saw Michie (Zambia’s Sweetheart) because I wasn't expecting that, so I was so shocked and happy. When my pictures were being taken I felt a bit anxious but everyone was so welcoming and it me feel really welcome. My highlight during the shoot was how comfortable the photographer made me feel and also getting to meet and pose with Mwaka (Hlwindi) who is just a really big inspiration to me, it was just the best. The entire experience made me really confident and I know I slayed the shoot.

Tobacco Myth Bu ers:
Know the Fas
"It’s Not Ju
Flavours"
One of the biggest myths out there is that smoking shisha or using vapes is safe because they "taste like fruit" or "smell nice." But the reality is, they're still tobacco products. Whether it's in a vape pen, a hookah pipe at a party, or a small bottle of flavored liquid - if it contains nicotine, it’s doing harm.
"Vapes and E-Cigs Are Not Safer..."
Some people say that Vapes and e-cigarettes are less harmful but that totally isn't true… Most vapes still contain nicotine, which is highly addictive. And many vaping liquids have other chemicals that can harm your lungs and heart. Studies even show that vaping is not only addictive but can lead to serious health problems down the line - if that’s not cool, I don’t know what is.
Just because something comes in a shiny package or a trendy flavor doesn't mean it’s safe.
"Smokg Does Not Help th Stress"
Lots of people believe smoking or sniffing nsunko can help calm them down when they’re stressed. But here’s the truth: tobacco actually increases stress in the long run.
When you use tobacco, your brain gets a quick "high," but it wears off fast, leaving you feeling even more anxious, edgy, or moody than before (guys, did you not see what happened to Joshua in Tikula?). Over time, your body starts to crave that feeling again and again, trapping you in a cycle of stress and addiction. Real talk: Tobacco doesn’t solve problems - it hides them for a few minutes and then makes them worse.
Let’s face facts sis, it’s not normal for us to be smoking. The average teen might be into dancing, art or fashion, but they aren't usually into smoking. More teens don’t smoke than they do, despite what anyone else says. Here are some more tobacco-related facts for you.
When you hear the word tobacco, what comes to mind? Maybe cigarettes, right? But here’s the real tea - tobacco isn’t just found in cigarettes. It’s hidden in a lot of things people think are “cool” or “harmless,” like shisha, vapes, e-cigarettes, and even things like nsunko.
"What About Nsunko?"
Still tobacco. Still harmful.
Nsunko - that powdered tobacco some people sniff - is another way tobacco sneaks into people’s lives. It might look harmless because you’re not "smoking" it, but nsunko is just as addictive and risky. It can damage your nose, mouth, brain, and even your mood.
Plus, once you’re hooked, it’s not easy to stop.
Just because something looks traditional or "natural" doesn't make it safe. Tobacco is tobacco, no matter the form.
Smoke Free? I’m That Girl
You deserve to feel good for real - not just for a few minutes. Tobacco tricks you into thinking it’s the answer to stress, pressure, or boredom, but it only brings more problems.True strength is knowing the facts and choosing what's right for you.
You’ve got dreams, goals, and a whole future waiting for you. Don't let tobacco hold you back. Stay strong, stay true... and stay you besties, because you really are that girl!
SKY STORIES
Hey SKY Girls ,my name is Ayanda G Muma
Growing up, I saw many family members and friends smoking. They’d often offer me cigarettes, saying it was a way to relax or socialize. But I always felt uneasy about it. I’d watch them struggle to quit, and I’d see the toll smoking took on their health, their looks, and their mindset.
When I turned 13, I decided to make a conscious choice to stay smoke-free. I knew it wouldn’t be easy, especially with loved ones around me who smoked. But I was determined to prioritise my health.
It wasn’t always simple. At parties or gatherings, people would offer me cigarettes or ask me to join them for a smoke break, I’d politely decline, explaining my reasons for staying smoke-free. Some didn’t understand, but others respected my choices.
I surrounded myself with like-minded friends who shared my values. We do encourage each other to stay healthy and active. We do find alternative ways to relax, like going for walks.
As I grew older, I realised the impact my choices could have.. I became a role model for younger family members and friends, they do see me prioritising my health and making conscious choices. Some even started to follow my lead.
It's been a year since I made that decision, and I’m proud to say I’ve stayed smoke-free. My loved ones have come to respect my choice, and some have even quit smoking themselves. I have shown them that a healthy, smoke-free life is possible and rewarding.
Now, I use my experience to empower others. I share my story with those struggling with nicotine addiction or tempted to start smoking. I remind them that it’s never too late to make a change and that a smoke-free life is worth fighting for.
SKY Advice
How can I make friends and fit in an environment when I am feeling unwanted or out of place?
If the environment makes you feel unwanted or out of place, then they’re not your people. Simple. Find your tribe instead – the ones who hype you up, include you, and make you feel seen. You deserve that kind of energy. @preciouskunda
Girl, I feel you. But hear me out - you weren't born to blend in. You were meant to stand out. So don't shrink yourself just to fit somewhere you were never meant to be. Be you, fully and loudly. The right people will love you for it and you'll feel at home when you're around the ones who get you. @Rose Nakalumbi
Walking into a new space and feeling like you don’t belong can really knock your confidence. But let me tell you something true: you don’t have to force vibes or shrink yourself to be accepted. Start small. A smile. A simple “Hi, I’m new here” or “Hey, your braids are on point!” can open a door. You’re not trying to win everyone over; you just need one real connection. And sometimes, that one person is just as nervous to speak up as you are. You were made to be real, not perfect. So, keep showing up as you. The right people; the ones who get your jokes and match your energy, they’ll find you. @innersafariquest_isq (Aunty B)
How do I continue trying to be a better version of myself?
I think setting goals helps – even the small ones. When you tick something off, no matter how little, it reminds you that you're growing. And once you see that progress, you won’t want to stop. Keep leveling up, girl! @Rachel Sephora
It’s about reminding yourself why you started in the first place. Whether it’s journaling, vision boards, or just talking to someone who motivates you – stay connected to the bigger picture. Growth is a journey, not a race. Keep going, you’re doing amazing! @chi chi
First of all, the fact that you’re even asking this shows you’re already on the right track. That’s That Girl energy right there! To keep growing, set small, clear goals and celebrate every win, even the small ones. If you’re feeling stuck, check in with your why. And don’t walk this journey alone; find your tribe, people who clap for your wins and remind you who you are when you forget. Growth is a vibe, not a race. Keep choosing you, little by little, and trust that you’re doing better than you think. @innersafariquest_isq (Aunty B)
Sisters, how can I stop procrastination?
I deal with procrastination by doing things that motivate me – like music, walks, or even planning cute to-do lists. Just start somewhere, even if it’s small. Once you start, the rest will flow. Also, don’t forget to hype yourself up – you're doing great. @ned_dina3
Babes! You guys asked for advice and your SKY sisters definitely came through! We love seeing sisters supporting each other as the SKY fam we’ve got you no matter what you are going through.
Procrastination usually kicks in when things feel too overwhelming. So break the big things into small steps, and celebrate the tiny wins. Remind yourself why the task matters and how good it’ll feel once it's done. Future you will thank you! @ned_dina3
Procrastination creeps in fast, especially with Insta, TikTok, and Snap keeping you scrolling for hours. But here’s the trick: don’t wait to feel motivated, just start small. Tell yourself, “Let me do this for 5 minutes,” silence your notifications, and boom, you’re in motion. Break big tasks into bite-size chunks and reward yourself after each one (a snack or whatever feels good). Check your environment as well, too many distractions = recipe for delay. Tidy your space, play some chill jams, and remind yourself why you started. And remember, future you is counting on now-you, so don’t ghost your goals. Just show up in little bits until it becomes a habit @innersafariquest_isq (Aunty B)
I really need advice on toxic friendships like a friendship whereby you're left out
Sis, friends who make you feel left out are not real friends. You deserve people who see you, hear you, and include you always. Don’t settle for half-love. Choose people who choose you back, every time. @geo_rd_die
Toxic friendships drain you and mess with your confidence. If someone constantly makes you feel left out, it’s okay to walk away. You’re not being dramatic, you’re protecting your peace. Real friendship feels safe, fun, and full of love. Don’t forget that. @gigimwanza
If a friendship constantly makes you feel left out, that’s a red flag. Real friends include you, hype you, and check in, they don’t leave you guessing your worth. Try having an honest convo like, “Lately I’ve been feeling left out. Is everything okay between us?” If they ignore your feelings or flip it on you, it’s okay to step back. You deserve to be loved in full, not in moments. Also ask yourself: Is this friendship filling me up or draining me? If it’s always you trying, always you feeling small, then babes... that’s not a friendship, that’s a lesson. You don’t have to fight to be seen in the right circle. Letting go is scary but holding on to people who make you question your worth is even worse.
@innersafariquest_isq (Aunty B)
Someone wants me to vape with them, I don’t want to, but I don’t know how to say no… Help a sister out.
There isn’t a right way of saying NO other than saying NO. If they persist, then they are not your real friends. There are definitely so many friends out there who will stand by you and love you for the choices you make. @kingmatimba
Simply tell them “NO” there's no harm in that… Don't be apologetic, sis, if they don’t respect that then that's not your tribe, and that's on period. @francescakhats_official
Sis, if it’s not your thing, own it with confidence. You don’t have to explain or sugarcoat. Just say, “Awe, I’m good. That’s not my vibe.” Or hit them with, “Me, I’m smoke-free. I’m not about that life.” Keep it light but firm. If they push, that’s on them, not you. Saying no doesn’t make you boring, it makes you solid. Stand 10 toes down for your health, your glow, and your peace!
