GREETINGS On behalf of the Board of Directors of Community Youth Advance I want to thank you for joining us this evening as we pay tribute to the Men and Women Who Make A Difference in Prince George’s County. They have made selfless and positive contributions in the fields of education, business, non-profit organizations and public service. In ways large and small they have made our community better and tonight we salute them. As our name suggests, Community Youth Advance is a local non-profit organization committed to advancing the welfare of our young people… the next generation. We provide mentoring, tutoring and Saturday School for over 400 students. Our results, such as a 30% increase in math scores for our Saturday school students are significant. Thus, tonight we also want to thank and pay tribute to the teachers, tutors, mentors and sponsors who help our young people succeed. The mission of Community Youth Advance is clear: to provide academic support and mentoring to our young people in order to develop successful citizens with good character. We’re glad you are here and hope you will join us in this worthy cause. Again, thank you for coming out tonight and we hope you have a truly enjoyable evening.

ALBERT WYNN Chair-Elect, Board Of Directors Community Youth Advance

COMMUNITY YOUTH ADVANCE

Community Youth Advance transforms out-of-school time to help all our youth thrive. Our out-of-school-time programs fill existing gaps in the local community and help our youth find pathways forward. We harness the power of community to help our students and mentees excel and achieve more in school and life. Our “Teach, Reach, Keep motto is an expression of our academic, mentorship and pathways program goals: academics are at the core of all we do; we connect the community so caring adults are all working together to lead our youth; we provide tools and support to help our youth find their own pathways to go as far as they want to go. Community Youth Advance was born after two flagship organizations, Community Tutoring, Inc. and Mentoring to Manhood merged to expand their services and enlarge their student reach.
