Dear Colleague: Today’s classrooms are altogether different than those that we were in as young students. Our students have at their disposal tools that weren’t in existence five years ago, let alone when many of us became teachers. Thus we are faced with an additional challenge in our classrooms: keeping up with and meeting the technological needs of our students. Not only must we find a place for technology in our classrooms that can enhance and support our students’ learning, we must find ways to harness and direct our students’ creativity and proclivity for using these tools. Web 2.0 tools such as podcasts, wikis and blogs provide teachers with options beyond the traditional poster presentations for incorporating technology use, meeting technology standards and engaging students at a new and deeper level. This seminar has been designed to provide you with ideas, strategies and suggestions for incorporating cutting-edge technology into your classroom. We will focus on ways to successfully and practically meld podcasts, blogs, wikis, and today’s newest technology tools with your curriculum. You will receive numerous project ideas, a wealth of Internet sites and resources and a framework for assessing these new tools and your students’ use of them. My goal is to provide you with the inspiration, courage and resources you need to successfully and practically transform your teaching and students’ learning experiences.

“We will focus on

Sincerely,

ways to successfully and practically meld podcasts, blogs, wikis, and today’s newest technology tools with your curriculum.”
