SCHEDULE OF SERVICES

Thank you for considering the Skirball Cultural Center for your special event needs.

Parking

Complimentary self-parking is available in all parking lots for all guests. North garage, East garage, and South garage. We also have a north loading dock and south loading dock for vendor load in/out. We do not offer valet parking.

Event Planning Service

Our knowledgeable event specialists will be happy to refer you to event rentals. This includes floral arrangements, specialty rentals, entertainment, photography, audio-visual technical support, and other specific services. Please note that an outside event coordinator is required for the day of all social events.

Audio-visuals

Audio-visual services may be requested through the Private Events Department. Current charges on the equipment will apply. Audio-visual programs requiring technical support will be charged an applicable labor fee.

Decorations

Floral arrangements and/or other decorative displays may be brought into the meeting rooms and banquet facilities of the Skirball Cultural Center. No confetti or balloons are allowed. No nails or tacks may be used in the affixing of signs or banners, and no tape may be used on surfaces. All decorations, games, and/or activities must meet the approval of the Skirball Cultural Center and the Los Angeles City and County Fire and Health Departments. Use of candles requires a fire permit from the Los Angeles City Fire Permit Office.

Insurance

The client and their contractors/vendors are each required to provide individual certificates of liability insurance with a $1,000,000 minimum policy and naming Skirball Cultural Center as additionally insured.

Storage

All rentals, special-effect props, and set-ups must be removed at the end of the event. The Skirball Cultural Center will not assume responsibility for any lost or damaged merchandise or articles. Fees for delivery or storage beyond event day may be assessed.

Special Conditions

Due to health regulations, food products may not be removed from the Skirball premises. Skirball provides all the catering in-house. Specialty food items may be brought in only with advance permission of the Skirball Cultural Center, and a $250.00-$500.00 surcharge will be assessed.

Overtime for facility use will be charged after a five (5)–consecutive-hour catered event at a minimum of $500.00 per hour. Additionally, overtime involving catering team will be charged at a minimum rate of $1,000.00 plus prevailing California sales tax and may be higher depending on client services and number of guests.

When determining your menu selection, you may select up to two entrées from meat, fish, and chicken. We will offer a vegetarian option as your third entrée. The per-person price for all guests will be based on the charge of the higher priced entrée. Guaranteed count for each entrée selection must be given to us at least seven (7) business days prior to the event. Entrée selections are required to appear on guest escort cards.

Museum Viewing

The Skirball’s permanent exhibition, Visions and Values: Jewish Life from Antiquity to America, is available for private viewing outside of public hours for a fee of $1,000.00. Charges to include private opening of a changing exhibition in the Getty Gallery start at $2,500.00. Viewings would be on a self-guided basis.

Security Officers (required for all events)

$220.00 per 100 guests in attendance or portion thereof. An additional security guard is required for events with over 250 guests. Please note that an additional surcharge will apply for security on holidays.

Service Charge and Tax

Menu prices incur customary 22% taxable service charge will be added to all food and beverage billings. An additional labor surcharge will apply on Federal holidays. The prevailing California sales tax is applicable to the total food and beverage charges.

Event Estimates

Your Skirball event specialist can work with you to prepare a preliminary cost estimate for your event based on your specific requirements. Prices are subject to increase.

Corkage Fee

Wines or champagnes not offered on our wine list may be brought in at a corkage fee of $15.00 per 750ml bottle, plus prevailing California sales tax.

Challah

$1.00 per person to cut and serve challah. $25.00 flat fee for ceremonial challah not served to guests. Both options are subject to 22% taxable service charge and prevailing California sales tax.

Additional Services

These services include waiters, bartenders, chefs, nonalcohol-only servers, restroom attendants, coat room attendants, gift attendants, dance floor, umbrellas, heaters, stage, and lighting. Please inquire about pricing.

Linen Charge

Standard white or black linens and colored napkins are included with your reception tables and dining tables. Additional cloths for tables, such as auction or exhibitor tables, are $12.00 per table.

SCHEDULE OF FEES

A room fee is charged for all events with or without catering. With catering, the room fee will be taxed at the prevailing California sales tax rate. Depending on the nature of the event, additional charges may apply. Below are the room fees with catering. *Capacities below are contingent on other needs such as, but not limited to, staging, pipe and drape, décor, production, etc.*

* Saturday and Sunday events require booking the entire day.

Payments

To reserve a venue, an initial deposit will be required. The amount of deposit is based on event type and space. An additional deposit is due ninety (90) days prior to the event The deposit amounts will be applied to the total billing of your event and are not refundable.

Final payment is due and payable four (4) business days prior to the scheduled event, at the time of the guarantee. If payment is not received at the designated time, the event is subject to cancellation. Additional charges incurred by the client must be paid at the conclusion of the event. Payment options include cash, check, wire transfer, or credit card.

Guarantees and Food & Beverage Minimums

Attendance guarantee is required seven (7) business days in advance of your event. This is a minimum guarantee and is not subject to reduction. If the final guest count is not received, charges will be based on the initial guest count or the actual number, whichever is greater.

Skirball Cultural Center catering will not be responsible for service or food shortage if the actual guest count is in excess of 3% above the guaranteed guest count.
