PROJECT BRIEF

The project aims to create a sustainable environment by replacing open harmfull landfill dumps which is typically used by municipal waste collectors with waste to electricity solution. The process of converting waste to electricity is done in various process and is applicable only on combustible waste (plastics, rubber etc), Hence to deal with the mix nature of municipal waste which has all kinds of plastics and metals included a seperate metal recycling area was thought.

The design problem had various challenges like column free space of 80 m long to encorporate the required machineries in place, parkings and circulation of service vehicles etc. Aditionally a awareness center was added to teach current and future generations about importance of waste management and its disposal in propper way.

The Space is divided into two parts one will be Public while other wil be restricted to Staff

An abstraction of Double roof with a Petal shaped wings to Reduce heat gain

Roof cutouts for Better ventilation and to reduce heat gain

Final product satisfies problems related to humid climate with Double roof & Rain water harvesting with Petal roofs

HISTORY

Emperor Akbar built a fort in the 16th century on the Narmada bank which was taken over by the Holkars in the 18th century, after the death of Malharrao Holkar, Queen Ahilya Bai moved her capital from Indore to Maheshwar in 1767.

Ahilya Bai commissioned two architects from Rajasthan to redesign and construct parts of the Maheshwar Fort.

The architect brothers, Bhujdar and Gajdar turned the maheshwar Fort into a Rajasthani palace, replete with arches, balconies and oriel windows.

This place houses a special handloom industry of 100 workers which supply their local hand made textiles/sarees to outside world.

DOCUMENTATION BRIEF

The Documentation aims to learn the earlier techniques of planning and designing and putting it on digital medium of representation.

TEMPLE COMPLEX The temple complex is located near river narmada, Maheshwar.

It houses various activities from which the main is a small scale handloom industry named ‘Rehwa society”.

The following drawings represents the rehwa society and the temple complex adjacent to narmada.

THE REHWA SOCIETY The history of rehwa society dates back to 1700 where a maharani ahillyabai called for locals for weaving handlooms for their livelihood.

The following plan shows the overall workspace which was dated back to the earlier times where the walls were thick and every house had a courtyard in middle as a design elements and many more.
