Steve Reynolds Industrial Parkway (between Ridgeway Church Road and Maysville Road) will be changed to SK Boulevard as approved by the City of Commerce and Jackson County.

Within the next 90 days, the change will come into effect and our business address will be updated accordingly. Please note that there may be a delay in the update of Google Maps and other applications as it will take some time for those platforms to reflect the road’s name change.

U.S. Secretary of Transportation Visits BlueOval SK in Kentucky

Department of Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg, visited BlueOval SK Battery Park in Glendale, Kentucky to highlight job growth and workforce development as well as the transition to electric vehicles. The site will be home to two new electric vehicle battery manufacturing facilities.

“This will be one of the largest EV battery manufacturing facilities in the world. Workers here aren’t just building a factory, they’re building livelihoods and building the future,” Secretary Buttigieg said.

BlueOval SK is a joint venture with SK On and Ford to produce advanced batteries for future Ford and Lincoln electric vehicles. The $11.4 billion investment will create 5,000 new high-tech jobs at BlueOval SK in Kentucky and 2,500 jobs in Tennessee.

BlueOval SK in Tennessee Is On Track

BlueOval City, Ford’s mega campus in Tennessee, celebrates its construction progress. The electric vehicle and battery manufacturing campus begins production in 2025, and will be capable of producing 500,000 EV trucks a year.

SK On and Ford are investing $5.6 billion in the campus to build a fully integrated BlueOval SK battery manufacturing site. On-

site, the team will build battery cells and modules and assemble battery packs that will be delivered just across the site into the assembly plant.

In addition, BlueOval City is developing an on-site supplier park and will have an upfit center capable of adding in dozens of Ford trucks’ most popular features.

SK Battery America Aims to Build Career Pathway for Veterans

SK Battery America has hired 135 militaryconnected personnel. This military hiring initiative aims to create a place where veterans have access to meaningful work in electric vehicle battery manufacturing and a fulfilling career-path with competitive wage and high-skilled jobs.

SKBA has been attending career fairs at military installations and collaborating with organizations to share information about potential career

opportunities as servicemembers transition to civilian careers.

SKBA is honored to recognize the dedication, courage and sacrifice of the brave men and women who have served in the military and is committed to helping ensure a path toward a future for them as they transition into civilian life.

SKBA understands the importance of this partnership. If you look at the guard, we are 21% of the joint force, and we’re 4% of the defense budget, so that is a huge value proposition for America. We can’t provide that without willing and committed employers. So we’re very thankful for the partnership with SKBA.

Adjutant General of the Georgia National Guard

Typically, there are 10,000 personnel that transition each year in Fort Stewart. Lots of employers want to hire veterans and know the value of veterans.

SKBA understands the value of this population. I am very pleased with the partnership, and willing to help to promote the partnership.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Inspire Youth Toward EV

SKBA regularly engages with various groups of students, from elementry up to university level.

We attended the Career Day at Jefferson Elementary to inspire our youths and were excited to introduce SKBA and our batteries. We hope to spark their interest and excitement in the EV industry!

American Legion Post 93 Connects with SKBA VETS

The American Legion Post 93 visited SKBA to share their experiences and to speak with our veterans, reservists and milspouses. It was a great way to start the morning as they greeted our veterans with a cup of hot coffee and donuts.

The legion members shared membership benefits and their service experience with SKBA veterans. Membership in the American Legion can provide veterans and their families with valuable resources and support.

Leading the Way in Empowering Veterans

SKBA has been actively attending career fairs at military installations.

In March, we attended career fairs at Warner Robbins Airforce Base and Fort Gordon Army Base.

We aim to bridge the gap between service and civilian employment, as well as to support their transition to a cutting-edge technology role.

US Unveils Stricter EV Tax Credit Rules, Effective April 18

The Department of Treasury has unveiled stricter tax rules that could lead to the reduction or removal of tax credits for electric vehicles.

The purpose of these rules is to provide a financial incentive for companies operating in the U.S to move away from using Chinese EV battery supply chains. Another major goal is to help the Biden administration achieve its target of making 50% of all vehicles sold in the U.S EVs by 2030. This will have an impact on battery and critical mineral sourcing, as the new rule aligns with the North American assembly rule.
