This refresher course will help re-teach the dog and the owner to work together as a team. We will focus and handling techniques and self control, through group exercises. Dogs will also learn target stick training. Owners will learn effective, non-verbal ways to communicate with their dogs. There will also be fun and surprises for you and your dog. Beginning Adult Golf Instruction Start with the basics and learn from the best at Eaglemont Golf Course. Four instructional classes cover grip, stance, alignment, chipping, putting, and golf etiquette. Balls are provided. This class will get you started in no time! special events Summer Solstice Celebration Sponsored by the Mount Vernon Arts Commission Stroll on down to the Skagit Riverwalk next to the Tulip Tower and experience the Summer Solstice with fellow artists, art enthusiasts, community leaders, movers and shakers for a Celebration of the Sun! This exciting “treasure hunt” will be an event you will never forget! Use your GPS device to track coordinates and search for treasure! Friday night will be an evening hunt to meet other cachers and to visit the historic downtown Mount Vernon. Saturday’s hunt will have you searching the City for 15 hidden caches! After required amount of caches are found, participants will receive their “Coin”, one per family. FABULOUS 4th OF JULY MUSIC & FIREWORKS Food and music for the whole family! Bring your own food and BBQ or try one of our tasty food vendors at our Annual Music Festival at Edgewater Park. Music starts with local bands around 6:00pm with the headliner starting at 9:00pm and spectacular fireworks at dark! Come with your friends and dance the night away or picnic with your family and enjoy the whole evening at Edgewater Park. You won’t want to miss the great music and enjoy the best seats in the house for the fireworks!! This year’s event promises to be filled with quality local children’s entertainment and approximately 30 booths providing hands-on arts & crafts!!! Concessions are provided at the event and you are welcome to bring your own lunch. Children can experience activities from fish prints to sand art and best of all, its free!! This festival is supported by the City of Mount Vernon and many other generous businesses and organizations within Mount Vernon and the Skagit Valley.
