difference
between Chinese and Thai?
Dragon Boat Festival is a well-known traditional Chinese festival, do you know there is a similar festival in Thailand?

The Bak Chang Festival is held every th May of the lunar calendar, which brought into Thailand by immirgrate Teochew. Both maintain the tradition of eating sticky rice dumpling but still the ingredients are different between two culture.

For example, the Chinese rice dumpling’s ingredients are inside of the dumpling, while for the Thai style, the ingredients are exposed when the bamboo leaves wrapped outside of the dumpling has been removed.
The major categories of Thai rice dumplings are the“Bak Chang”(salty one) and“Ki Chang”(sweet one). Traditional “Ki Chang”uses peels of durian to create baking soda, then dip with sticky rice for ten hours.
Thailand is a country with diverse cultures. As Dragon Boat Festival coming, we encourage you to discover more about the similarities of Chinese and Thai cultures!
