PORT SERVICE IN ANTWERP AND ROTTERDAM

In Antwerp and other adjacent ports, such as Rotterdam, Gent, Zeebrugge and Terneuzen, our representative visits Swedish ships and Swedish crewmembers onboard foreign flagged vessels.

Some of the services we can offer are port information, newspaper distribution, sports, exchange of library and transportation to some of the tourist attractions in Belgium.

PORT SERVICE GÄVLE

In Gävle, a representative from Gefle Seamen’s Mission visits ships in port, and there is an unattended drop-in center within the ISPS-area. You will find the premises on Depåvägen 37

PORT SERVICE HALLAND

Our representative in Halland visits Swedish ships, mainly in the ports of Falkenberg and Varberg.

If possible, a visit in the port of Halmstad can be arranged. Some of the services we can offer are newspapers, sports activities and library exchange.

SEAMEN’S SERVICE MALMÖ

In Malmö, the seamen’s club is located in the sports facility Kockum Fritid. Here we can offer a broad variety of activities, such as gym, badminton and squash as well as a swimming pool. If you prefer outdoor activities, you can choose to go jogging, play football or take a walk to the beach at Ribersborg. If you just want to relax, you can choose to play pool or communicate with family and friends through our computers and free Wi-Fi.

Together with CMP (Copenhagen – Malmo Port), we run a drop-in center at the cruise terminal during the summer. Our representative can also make visits to the port in Landskrona. Please contact Malmö for arrangements.

SEAMEN’S CHURCH HELSINGBORG

The Swedish Seamen’s Service does not have a representative in Helsingborg.

Instead, representatives from the Seamen’s Church can offer transportation, library exchange and other services. They can also offer a religious service onboard or in the church.

MOVIES ONBOARD

The Swedish Seamen’s Service film rental service has been around for decades, and has often been highly appreciated.

We offer all Swedish-flagged vessels, and swedes onboard foreign-flagged vessels, new movies on dvd. Every month, a selection of six movies in different genres are distributed onboard, normally through the shipping company or the agent in Sweden. The dvd:s can be kept a year, before they are to be destroyed.

The vessel receives 72 dvd:s a year, making it possible to keep a continuous film library onboard. Our goal is to get the newest and most wanted titles. We aim to make a varied program, and tries to find interesting titles from all over the world. In our standard package, all movies come with Swedish speech or subtitles. In the English package, all movies come with English speech or subtitles. The packages are more or less the same, except for one or two monthly

titles that are replaced with an English-spoken/subtitled movie. By choosing the English package, everyone onboard an international vessel can enjoy the movies.

A program with a short plot summary and production information is attached in every delivery, and can also be found at Seatime.se. The fee for the film service varies depending on the normal crew size and is charged with a monthly invoice. Contact Sjömansservice Media for more information.
