SER Teen Chapter of the Year Award (Con’t.)

Leaving a Legacy Award
The “Leaving A Legacy Award” created by Past RTP Jordyn Allen recognizes Jack and Jill Southeastern Region Chapter Teen Presidents for exhibiting their “Power to Make a Difference” on the chapter level. These are students, who have displayed carpe diem throughout their tenure and have demonstrated a dedication to leadership, service, but most importantly standing up for what they believe in. Characteristics that the current Regional Teen Officers, Jasmine Stewart, Josephine Glass, Blake Haynes, Gabrielle Bowie, and Kennedy Means have exhibited while serving.
This award is dedicated to them and will honor a leader who exhibits their strong qualities and desires to make a difference in the world around them.
Eligibility
• All Chapter Teen Presidents who served for the 2022-2023 program year are eligible.
• Attendance at the 67th Annual Southeastern Region Teen Leadership Conference is required.
The nomination form must be submitted by April 15, 2023.
• Four photos must be uploaded of the candidate. There must be at least one headshot and one action photo.
• Lead Teen Sponsor must submit a mp4 video, of 1 minute or less, thanking the Chapter Teen President for their work on the chapter level. The video of the winner will be played on Saturday, June 18th during the Leadership Luncheon Program. The video of all nominees will be played at the Breakfast of Champions.
• Lead Teen Sponsor should upload an essay of 500 words or less discussing why the Chapter Teen President should be chosen for the Leaving a Legacy Award.
Shattering Glass Ceilings Award
The Glass Ceiling is a metaphor for the invisible barrier that prevents some people from rising. It's a subtle but damaging form of discrimination, where you cannot take the opportunities you see in front of you – despite your suitability and your best efforts. The Shattering Glass Ceilings Award will be given to a teen with a physical, intellectual, or developmental disability that has taken the glass ceilings placed on those with disabilities and used it to insight change within their community.

Criteria
Great commitment to Jack and Jill
Commitment to spreading awareness about childhood disability
Donate time, resources, and effort to community service
Demonstrate leadership amongst their peers
Points
The Chapter LTS should complete the google forms sent on March 3rd to Chapter VPs will be due no later than April 15th, in order for their teen to be considered for the award. Results will be released at Teen Conference in Hollywood, Florida.

SER Teen Chapter Buddy System
These awards are designed to increase camaraderie between the various chapters of the SER. This will happen by pairing chapters and encouraging the chapter pairs (Buddies) to host at least 1 event during the programming year, (in person or virtually). During the event(s) we encourage teens within the buddy pairs to exchange information and get to know each other.
1 event = Membership SERtified Chapter (chapters will receive a certificate)
2 or more events = VIP VP (VP’s will receive medals & merch box)
