Strraine
A strainer is a kitchen tool used for separating solid particles from liquid, typically by pouring a mixture through a mesh or perforated surface. It's commonly used for straining pasta, washing vegetables, or separating seeds from juices. There are different types of strainers, such as fine mesh strainers for sifting flour or powdered sugar, and colanders for draining larger quantities of food.
1.Mesh Strainer(Sieve)
Fine Mesh Strainer: Often used for sifting flour, straining sauces, and rinsing grains like quinoa.
Coarse Mesh Strainer: Ideal for straining pasta or vegetables.

2.Chinois (Conical Strainer):
Fine Chinois: Used for very smooth soups, sauces, and custards.
Coarse Chinois: Used for straining stocks and larger particles.

3.Colander
Typically made of metal or plastic with larger holes, used for draining pasta, rinsing vegetables, and other general straining tasks

4.Spider Strainer:
A wide, shallow wire basket with a long handle, used for retrieving food from hot oil or boiling water, like fried foods or dumplings

Problem Statement
When I use a strainer in my kitchen I found out that the handle of it feel uncomfortable whit my wrist and no thumb rest So not design for bearing capacity so I need to hold harder when the solid food fall down to the strainer so I feel it very unsafe for me and other people if I lost control it might mess up.

Ergonomic for beginners
Limit the duration of any continuous muscular effort
Pg8"Continuous stress on certain muscles in the body as a result of a pro longed posture or repetitive movement leads to localized muscle fatigue, a state of muscle discomfort and reduced muscle perform-ance ”
Shape of handgrips
Pg.27 . “If the whole hand is used to exert a force, the handgrip must have a diameter of approximately 3 cm and a length of approximately 10 cm ”

Design concept
In decide to redesign the handle of a strainer to be more user ergonomics. User will feel comfortable with wrist and thumb and the handle features a contoured shape that fits comfortably in the hand, better control Constructed from durable plastic or wood, the handle is overlaid with a soft, non-slip material. So all user feel safet and reducing fatigue during extended use because it an essential tool for everyday cooking tasks.
Materials
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene, best known by the brand name Teflon. Here's an overview of its properties, applications, and safety considerations:
Chemical Resistance: It is highly resistant to chemicals, acids, and bases.
Temperature Stability: PTFE can withstand a wide range of temperatures, from -200°C to +260°C (-328°F to +500°F).
Cookware: Commonly used as a non-stick coating for pans and other cookware.

PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) non-slip materials are widely used in various applications to provide a slip-resistant surface. Here's an overview of PVC non-slip properties, uses, and safety considerations:
Durability: PVC is a durable material, resistant to wear and tear.
Water Resistance: It is resistant to water, making it ideal for wet environments.
Flexibility: PVC non-slip materials can be flexible, allowing them to conform to different surfaces.
Ease of Cleaning: Non-slip PVC surfaces are generally easy to clean and maintain.

In clay 1: When I hold it I feel my wrist is very comfortable but but size of the grip is small it ok with people who have small hand but not for big hand

In clay 2: When I hold it I feel that I just hold a pan handle but more comfortable because of the shape that fit of my finger but I can use for only left hand.

In clay 3: When I hold it I feel that it too fit and it feel like I wear a splint on my arm and it not comfortable at all.

In clay 4: When I hold it I feel that my wrist is very comfortable and also the grip but can only left hand can use. So I decide to develop this design.
