Site area : 200 sq.m

Location : Trichy

THE BRIEF :

To design a modern residence for a couple in Trichy. Both of them are employed and one of them is a budding reporter, the couple is blessed with two kids. Servant has been employed to take care of the kids, and this is the first house their going to build. This site is located near a amusement park on one side and road on two sides. The built space should include an office for the reporter,Gym,Guest bedroom and pooja room in addition to other major spaces.

01 RESIDENCE

The site is a cornor plot at road junction. Entry to the site is given from the north side which in turn results in the building orientation to be along north to south direction

Levels has been introduced to make user feel the change of space from living room to pooja area. Pooja room is treated differently from other spaces by giving sloped roof.

Zoning of spaces is done based on the privacy requirement. Public spaces like office has been zoned in the rear front and groundfloor has semi private family spaces like guest bedroom, Kitchen, Dining etc. First floor is designed completely for the familys private zone having spaces like master bedroom, Children bedroom, Gym, Sitout etc

02 NATIONAL BANK

Project year : 3rd Year

Site area : 375 sq.m

Location : Hyderabad

THE BRIEF :

To design a National Bank in the city of Hyderabad, Telangana. The site is a picteresque terrain located in the foothills of a hillock and interlocked between multii landuse buildings and is accessed by a 30m road and a 12m service lane.

The triangular cornor is landscaped and used as car parking space.

Sustainable materials has been involved without compromising the facade treatment. The entire building has concrete finish and facade is treated with brick jali work.

First floor has thickness of 0.45m to ensure safety, as the vault is present in first floor.

Before the actual entrance to the built structure a semi open space is provided which is landscaped and has seating for public usage. This has positive effect on users as they it is visually pleasing and acts as an element for distribution of crowd as well.

Massing is done in such a way that privacy is not disturbed and triangular cutout is provided with glass facade which gives exterior view for manager, break room etc, provides view towards the hill. The triangular projection gets along with the triangular part of our site.

Brick jali provides greater visual attraction, low cost, locally available material etc...

The massing is provided leaving 0.4m gap between actual wall, this allows air circulation and lighting through the jali.

06 SENIOR CITIZENS HABITAT

THE BRIEF

: Senior Citizens’ Habitat or senior living refers to housing for people above the age of 55, offering convenient services, senior-friendly design features, and access to social activities. Medical support and healthcare are often included for their ease and convenience. Within senior living, there are different concepts, such as independent and assisted living. The former refers to housing and communities for active seniors who are healthy and independent, while assisted living is for seniors who require varied levels of support, such as caregivers and nursing.

OBJECTIVE :

To develop senior-friendly housing through quality design and accessible infrastructure, providing sufficient facilities that specifically address the concerns of both active seniors and those in need for assisted living.

Other than the residential consideration this project also focus on the mental wellbeing of the people, one such initiative is the meditation centre, community farming etc which helps people to get in conversation with other people as well as students coming from outside.

The entire project focus on sustainable design elements and usage of different locally available low cost materials is an added value.
