Along this Road is a photographic journey of my daily commute home. Displaying a busy sunday in hackney through imagry. Documenting the people and places I observe along the way. With the hopes to display Hackney throughg my own elns. I’ve lived in hackney all my life, growing up in the same area of E9 since I was born. I have begun to realise the changes its undergone. The uprising of gentrification and how that has affected the buroiugh and it’s residents. Once a place where everyone knew eachother, a tight knit and close community, now full with new and unrecognisable faces, no longer a hub of locals.
I stopped and spoke to people along my walk, the old and the new residents, to get their opinion and insight on the cur- rent changes and how the effects vary from person to person. I decided to embrace the reality of my walk, observing what I came accross with a sense of authenticity. Tuning in and out of conversations happening nearby, picking spots to watch pople walk by, how they interact with others, wondering about their past, their futures, awkward encounters, body language and the vast con- trats between urban and rural life that lives at our doorstep.
The same street I walk along eachday, from a different point of veiw.
