Portrait Studies in Oil Paint Learn to see the essence of the face and translate it into two dimensions. Through morning exercises and afternoons spent painting from the model, you’ll become more familiar with oil paint and the human head, plus have good fun learning to see as a painter sees.
Watercolor Mixing Basics
Skies and Water in Pastel
Build a foundation for future watercolor growth, with just enough color theory to explain the “whys” of color mixing. Test your watercolors for transparent, opaque or staining qualities. Paint color wheels and color charts. Use your new knowledge to paint leaf shapes with wet-intowet techniques for glowing color.
Sky and water are two elements in a landscape that have inspired and challenged artists throughout history. Explore various techniques using pastels for painting cloud configurations, nocturnes, changing light and water, from reflective ponds and lakes to ocean waves.

With step-by-step instruction learn how to mix luminous shadows, earthy dark greens and yellow/greens.
