ST IVES TOWN RES GODMANCHESTER ROVERS RES 0-0

StIvesTownReservesHeldtoFrustrating0–0DrawinChance‑StarvedClashWith Godmanchester
StIvesTownReserveswereleftfrustratedaftera0–0drawwithGodmanchester,a strange, disjointed contest that offered very little in the way of clear chances and ultimately felt like two points lost. With a win, Ives would have moved five points clearoftheirvisitors, butthebreakthroughnevercame.
Thefirsthalfwastightandscrappy, withbothsidesstrugglingtofindanyrhythm.St Ives enjoyed more of the ball but couldn’t turn possession into meaningful openings, while Godmanchester threatened only in isolated moments on the counter. It was a half defined by halfchances and nearly moments, and the sides wentinlevelwiththegamestillwaitingforsomeonetoseizecontrol.
After the break, Ives pushed harder, trying to inject tempo and purpose into a match that never quite settled. The buildup play improved, but the final pass, the decisive touch, the moment of quality needed to unlock the game it all remained elusive. Godmanchester stayed compact, slowed the game down, and were contenttotakethestingoutofeveryattack.
As the final whistle blew, the sense of frustration was clear. A point keeps St Ives moving, but this was an afternoon where the opportunity was there to create real daylight in the table and it slipped away. The challenge now is to sharpen up, rediscoverthecuttingedge, andmakesurefuturechancestopullcleararetaken

BUGBROOKE ST MICHAEL RES ST IVES TOWN RES 3-1

StIvesTownReservesSlipto3–1DefeatasSecondHalfStrugglesProveCostly
St Ives Town Reserves fell to a frustrating 3–1 defeat away at Bugbrooke, a result shaped by a flat performance and a second half in which the game drifted firmly outoftheircontrol.
Bugbrooke struck first, taking advantage of a hesitant moment at the back, but St Ives found a response. A spell of pressure forced the equaliser, with Reuben Huggins’ relentless work rate causing problems for the home defence. His persistence forced a chasing defender into turning the ball into his own net, bringingthesideslevelandgivingIvesafootholdasthefirsthalfended1–1
After the break, however, the momentum shifted sharply. Bugbrooke played with greater intensity and punished St Ives for a series of loose moments. As the hosts grew stronger, Ives struggled to regain their shape or rhythm, and two secondhalf goals left the visitors with too much to do. The performance lacked the sharpness and control that has defined their better displays this season, and the contest slippedaway.
In the end, the 3–1 scoreline reflected a disappointing afternoon — one where the effort was there, but the quality and composure were not. The challenge now is to regroup, respond, and rediscover the standards this group has already shown it canreach.
