Young Mums Well Being Program

Sometimes, what mums need most isn’t just a break it’s connection. A chance to laugh, to rest, to share stories and meals, and to watch their children thrive in a safe and joyful space. That’s exactly what unfolded over three magical days on the Gold Coast, when three incredible mums and their nine lively children gathered for a much-needed “Mums & Bubs” retreat

We kicked off our adventure on Tuesday, March 25, with a laid-back lunch rendezvous at KFC Eagleby It was more than just a feed it was our first moment of connection, of laughter over chips and chicken, as mums and little ones got to know each other Bellies full, we hit the road toward Biggera Waters, arriving at our home away from home: the Townhouse Riverside Villas. No time was wasted suitcases were barely unzipped before the kids had dived headfirst into the pool.

That afternoon was full of discovery. The resort became our own little paradise, with mini golf, a pirate-themed water park, an outdoor movie screen, and a games room that quickly turned into a hub of colouring and board games. After a quick pit stop for leftover KFC, the kids were back in the water until the sun dipped low. As they splashed and squealed, us mums could finally exhale While we caught our breath, Cortney and I got dinner sizzling BBQ burgers, sausages, chicken wings, legs, homemade potato salad, and crisp green salad. Dessert would have to wait after hot showers and warm cuddles, we were all out like lights.

Wednesday began with the smells of a hearty cooked breakfast wafting through the air bacon, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, toast, crumpets, and a colourful fruit platter. We knew we’d need energy for a big day ahead, and the kids wasted no time getting back to the pirate water park, followed by a splash in the pool Lunch was a vibrant spread of sandwiches, fresh fruit, dips, and snacks that felt more like a picnic party

Afternoon adventures saw the kids racing around on go-karts and returning to the water to cool off. The mums kicked back with Cortney and me for a well-earned yarn before gearing up for another feast chicken satay skewers hot off the BBQ, homemade fried rice, and salad This time, there was room for dessert, and the kids were thrilled By 8:30pm, not a peep was heard everyone was sound asleep after a day well lived.

Thursday came too soon. With the sun peeking in, we fired up one last BBQ breakfast As we packed up and tidied the villas, the kids begged to stay longer a sure sign of a good trip. Though we were heading home, our hearts were full.

This retreat wasn’t just a getaway it was a celebration of resilience, connection, and community. It reminded us that when mums are supported, empowered, and cared for, everyone thrives.
